Dan Jones Bedtime Stories for Grown Ups... In this cozy sleep story we journey through a magical woodland, finding your way to a cliff overlooking a stormy ocean. You walk along the cliff towards a lighthouse in the distance, as a storm rolls in. You explore the lighthouse, before settling down and falling asleep to the sounds of the storm outside as you enjoy wonderful rest and great sleep... 😴
This is a hypnosis sleep story to reduce anxiety, worry and stress as well as to help you fall asleep fast, sleep all night and wake feeling refreshed...
This bedtime sleep story for grown ups includes nature sounds and occasional soft music. At the beginning you can hear the sound of walking through woodland, then the sounds of the rough ocean beneath a cliff. As a storm rolls in, you can hear the sound of that storm and rain, and inside the lighthouse, you can hear the sound of the rain on the window with the storm in the background outside, and end with settling down to sleep to this sound in the background. The distant storm and rain on the window sounds continue on for the remainder of the 3 hours after the narration is over, so you can fall asleep with that relaxing, calming sound. #sleepstory #sleep #sleepstories #nature #rain #narration #storytelling #calm #meditation #relax #relaxation
About this Sleep Story: Walk through a calm and magical evening woodland, then out onto a cliff at night-time, overlooking a stormy ocean. You relax on a bench, overlooking the ocean and the storm on the horizon. You drift into a reverie about canoeing on the sea. Later, as you notice the storm getting closer, you head to a lighthouse to find sanctuary from the approaching storm.. You dry off in the lighthouse and explore the lighthouse, heading all the way to the top, to the light of the lighthouse, before heading back to a room, where you read a book for a while... At the end, you can relax in a cozy bed, with the sound of rain on the window and the distant sound of the storm, falling comfortably asleep into Slumberland.

Oh the intro is perfect. Love the idea of giving the listener a brief idea of what to expect, wishing them a good sleep and pleasant dreams 💚 and a very brief touch on relaxed breathing to settle in. Wonderful combination. Makes me wish it were bedtime but I've got 6 hours yet. I love lighthouses. Will catch the rest tonight.

For those that wish the video to last a little longer, just set the Playback to a slower setting like .75. You might find that the slower speed enhances the sound effects, although the narration at beginning may sound a little funny. Just a thought.

@DanJonesHypnosis

In-breaths trigger the body's stress response, out-breaths trigger the body's relaxation response. Usually these are about even and we stay pretty neutral. When stressed we breathe in more air and the longer in-breaths trigger the stress response, when relaxed we breathe deeper (where our stomach moves rather than just our chest) and have longer out-breaths, triggering the relaxation response, so something like 7-11 breathing is very helpful to learn. It is more effective to do longer out-breath, than a breathing pattern which is perhaps even in, even pause, even out... It is also one of the things which relaxes smokers. Nicotine is a stimulant and so not something relaxing, but when smokers smoke they usually do longer out-breaths, triggering the relaxation response, and then perhaps 20 minutes later the relaxation is fading and the nicotine (stimulant) starts to kick in, like having a coffee, and as the stimulant increases its effect it increases the feeling like the person is stressed/anxious and so increasing the chances of them beginning to feel like they would like to smoke again to calm themselves back down again...

I don't understand the question or if this is a reply to someone else's question asking them about a problem they are having, but put as a separate comment? This is just a sleep story followed by the natural sounds continuing on after the story ends, so not a song with lyrics, but it does have spoken word for the sleep story with background sounds and then the sounds continue on after the story finishes...

That is very annoying. I have adverts turned off so they shouldn't play but KZfaq has stated that any video where the creator turns ads off they may decide it makes business sense to include adverts and so may place ads in those videos. It is incredibly annoying and something which is affecting all of us channels who make videos where it is very important not to have adverts during videos.

Oh dear ! Dan ! What got you talking like that ? Is this a new technique, (slurring your words) ? I did not enjoy the first 5 minutes so went back to the watchmaker story. Just my opinion. I prefer your normal speaking voice not this type of delivery which is not for me..
@DanJonesHypnosis
@DanJonesHypnosis Жыл бұрын
It should be the same voice? Both recorded on the same microphone, edited in the same way, recorded about a week apart from each other. The only difference between them is that the pocket watch story was ad-libbed like all but one of my previous 300+ stories, whereas this lighthouse story and the magical woodland story were scripted and so I'm reading a script rather than just creating the story in the moment.

I am sorry but these new stories are definitely presented in a different way.I don't know how long for because I listen to my old favourites mostly, Mountain Castle, Dogs Journey, Deep trance. Most definitely certainly there was not this staccato breathing, and strange intonation. So sorry Dan, been a fan for years and will never stop listening to your old stories, but these new ones are just..,.well, not relaxing. Reminds me of Michael Sealey who is awful! I apologise, and obviously others are quite happy but I am surprised your old faithfuls have not recognised this difference (,or are not commenting on it anyway), it is so markedly noticeable.
@DanJonesHypnosis
@DanJonesHypnosis Жыл бұрын
@@wurlybird6752 the only vocal difference is editing. Before 2019 I used to leave most breathing and mouth noises in and did minimal editing and at that point in all the years I had made these sorts of tracks no-one mentioned having a problem with mouth noises or breathing. Obviously my early stuff from the very early 2000's was very low audio quality and even when I had my first better audio recorder in about 2008 the recordings were generally very quiet to try to keep recording noise down and so there would be some complaints about the tracks being difficult to hear, but until the second half of 2018 no-one has ever complained about my breathing or mouth noises. Then in 2018 as my stories seemed to be the thing people were watching my channel for and in larger numbers I started getting comments about breathing and mouth noises. I didn't make any new recordings for about a year, until in September 2019 I decided to focus the channel on meditative Ericksonian hypnosis sleep stories and obviously by then had much better recording equipment (I had a Zoom H4n Pro to record with) so what I started recording in September 2019 was done with this recorder and I decided if I'm going to focus the channel on sleep stories then I should do them properly with editing etc, so I would manually edit out almost every breath and mouth noise that I could and I also would reduce silences, making each silence no longer than 4 seconds, even though this isn't the intended rhythm and it meant it would reduce the effectiveness because often I have silences for the listener to do inner work, but just because many comments complained about me having silences in my stories. I also would try to reduce the recorder self noise which would make my voice sounds a bit more tinny but wouldn't then have the hiss on the recording. In 2020 I got an external shotgun microphone and a FetHead (something that increases the mic gain without adding in much extra noise, so you can then reduce the gain on the recorder, which reduces the self noise), I had this mix record into my Zoom H4n Pro, so there obviously was a different sound quality, it is an expensive professional microphone rather than the onboard microphones, but the recorder was still too noisy, so in 2021 I got a Zoom F6 which is very expensive (for me at least) but can record in very high quality and with very low noise. This meant that from 2021 I was using the same microphone, still editing mouth noises, breaths, background noises etc, but not having to edit the self noise so much. My goal is always to reduce required editing and to have recordings as near to how it should be out of the recorder. I was told that many channels use a specific Rode microphone, so I got that and tried to work with that for a couple of months, but it picked up even more background sounds which I would then have to edit out, then towards the end of last year I got the microphone I have been using ever since, a broadcast quality microphone often used by radio stations which picks up very little background sound. The main annoying background sound to edit out which causes me most stress is my almost constant stomach noises. Over the years I have tried everything, eating, not eating, eating at various times beforehand, drinking, sipping, not drinking, being relaxed, being stressed, etc, and nothing works, so my hope was to find a microphone which will pick up my voice but not my stomach. This microphone seems to do quite a good job of it. Generally, until my magical stories (not the pocket watch story, that just happened to use the word magical, but the woodland story onward, and not the dragon story, that was from 2018), before these stories I was editing out as many breaths as I could, I was editing out mouth noises, stomach noises, other background noises, self noise of the device, but had stopped editing the silences back in 2020, deciding that I want my tracks to be heard with the paving they are supposed to have, with silences where I place them when recording. With the magical stories, I naively thought I hadn't had any complaints about my breathing for years and in fact had people say they liked the livestreams for things like the breathing which is missing from the final release. I also thought that times are different, there are dozens of similar channels so people are used to this kind of thing now, it used to be that people thought it sounded odd and would comment that they want me to read normally. So I decided that because doing these new style of videos takes about 60 hours, with writing the script (rather than ad-libbing) taking about 12 hours, plus then perhaps an hour to record, that if I can save a couple of hours on editing by not editing out all the breaths, then that would save me time while making the stories more natural to what you get when working with me. In terms of actual recording, nothing has changed. I sit in the same seat as always, talk into the same microphone I've been taking into since last year, and do so in the same way as I've always done, except for the first few of these I am reading a script rather than ad-libbing, then for editing, it is the same editing as always except in the first few of these I didn't edit out breaths. In the midst recent beach story two things have changed since this story, I am ad-libbing like how I used to make all my stories, except I'm ad-libbing from a paragraph description of what the story will be, rather than ad-libbing from a random list of words. The second change is that from seeing this and another comment on one of these first videos about my breathing making the rhythm staccato, I have gone back to heavier editing, editing out as much of my breathing as I can, so that shouldn't be the case in the beach story onwards, it should sound like any of my other stories. My current set up with the mic I use and the Zoom F6 means that generally I make very minimal editing to the track it comes out as it was recorded and so I'm pleased with how it sounds. I don't have to do many noise removal passes which can add a tinniness to the recording, I don't have to edit out too many background sounds or stomach noises. All I really edit are my breaths and cropping the beginning and end and any mistakes. So from the beach story onwards these should sound like the pre-magical stories, with fewer breaths, rather than with my normal recorded pattern of speech being what you hear, like in this video.
