Hi, I’m Chloe. I grew up in the lovely Devonshire countryside though, seeking wilder and more rugged landscape, now live in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District with my husband Ryan and our spaniel, Cam.
Join us on our adventures in the fells.

So nice to see this . When i was young i never liked doing the things my friends did .they all moved away from the village and went to the towns. I enjoyed walking in the country pretending i was frodo baggins camping out it brings peace into your life . I still get exited now looking at maps and going to a new place . Love the old folklaw style and haunting settings.❤

We love the Lake district, my grandparents used to have a caravan there and we used to go every year for a holiday. Not sure if you're familiar with Easedale Tarn near Grasmere but we walked up there once, on the way up it was lovely, but on the way down it began thundering and lightning and pouring with rain, we were absolutely drenched by the time we got back to the car!😃

Writing from Northern California. The 'heather' sequence was sublime. It damn near brought me to tears: "Sometimes we right off these rainy, misty days, but..." Well shown, well spoken. I've got nothing against a bright, sun-shiny day. (Having grown up in California, sometimes it seems like that's the only thing on the menu. Ever.) But dark, rainy days posses a beauty for me that I struggle to even articulate. It actually pangs me a little bit when I hear people call such days "ugly". Your videos provide an unexpected comfort in knowing there are others out there who have an eye and a heart to perceive something similar - thank you.

Ahh thank you for your lovely words. Yes, I'm the same. The dry, warm weather does lift the mood and bring such relief after a cold, dark winter but I do enjoy the seasons. I don't quite know what it is about those darker, moodier days either but they do hold such a magic.

Have just found your channel and love it. I wild swim where I live in the sea and rivers and it’s amazing. As you say it’s completely different and brings you much closer to nature. I cam to the Lakes back in May this year on a Wild Swimming Dip Fest ( 4 days of wild swimming) and fell in love with the Lakes. The scenery is so inspiring and the Lakes so cold and tranquil. Can’t wait to come back. Your videos are so beautiful, calm and relaxing ❤️

Absolutely agree with Chloe’s previous comment. What a wonderful production this one was. I used to wild swim off the west coast of Ireland in the winter. Once you get past the initial ‘have they dropped off’ moment and your body settles, so then does the mind. It really has to be experienced to understand what it does to mind, body and soul. My favourite was swimming off a pier at night into fog off Cape Cod with my wife. Still water, infinity hidden by a 360 degree ‘blanket’, the silence and just two people in love. Other worldly. One of those moments to cherish. Your shows, particularly this one have that ‘other worldly’ feel. It’s a gift to be able to capture that. Your productions have a movie feel to them. Surprised at the low numbers watching…at the moment. Stick with this. Said before…you’ve got something here. Well done and thank you for the obvious amount of thought and work you put into your channel:)

Absolutely magical. More power to your elbow. You are a sensible wild swimmer. I live near the Peak District and all you hear about in the summer time is tragedies. Reservoirs are not the place to swim especially at low water. The amount of junk the builders left down there is amazing. Old rail way line piles of mesh and concrete obstructions. It makes me shudder thinking about it. the Lakes are the place to wild swim so long as you know what your doing.

Hi, I'm new to your channel and love the simplicity of your videos. I do quite a lot of hiking and wild camping with my border collie, mainly in the Lakes and the Peak District. I have toiyed with the idea of wild swimming a few times especially now but never actually taken the plunge so to speak! I am worried that I won't be able to control my breathing in such cold water, perhaps once I do it I will love it, I really want to give it a go, you make it sound so enjoyable and peaceful

Thank you. Wild swimming has it's dangers, of course. Especially cold water. I have always felt very relaxed swimming and have done some frozen lake swims but wouldn't want to make it seem like it doesn't have a risk. I think starting in summer is the safer option, (as long as there's no blue-green algae) when the water and air temp is warmer. That way you can acclimatise gradually. Also, going with a wild swimming group if you're unsure is probably a good bet (you can likely search FB for local groups). Just some thoughts, not an expert of course. Check out Wim Hoff for more on the cold water if you haven't already. He has breathing techniques. Some people do ice baths so that's another way to see how your body reacts in a more controlled environment. Hope that helps a little 🙏🏼

I don’t wild swim the waters where I live are polluted by agricultural run off and sewage however I do surf and to sit outback of the white water on my board is one of my main pleasures in life I,ve been visited by seals on numerous occasions and I once spent an hour in the largest grey mullet shoal I,ve ever seen must of been thousands of them . We miss so much in life and a reset like wild swimmimg or surfing or even a simple bike ride up country lanes and a walk can be so beneficial to our mental health .. Love the editing on these vides you capture your locations perfectly .Thank you👍

Hi , At what age did you take Cam on his first wild camp ? I have a 10 month old Hovawart called Willow, would love to get her out, just afraid she would damage kit, like sleeping pad / bag with her claws….

@@nigeljohnson6596 Oo I can't actually remember. Our hiking did stop while he was growing and thus our camping as the two were tied together. So probably 18 months +. If it's a concern, probably for good reason 😅 They do have needle claws when they're young and can be pretty mouthy. All depends on the individual dog I guess. Cams never been a chewer (I do provide him with chews so he gets that outlet) and we did settle work so that he knows it's time to chill. But yes, he will still dive around the tent if he thinks I didn't do a good enough job of drying him off 😄

Hi Chloe. If you like a spot of wild swimming go & find Black moss pot in Langstrath, Borrowdale.. it is a superb place to take the plunge if a tad cold😉
