Magic: The Gathering

The creative process isn't easy, and doing it for a living is even harder. In this episode, we explore the lives of two popular Magic content creators: Paul Cheon and Brian "The Professor" Lewis. One's a gold-level pro, the other got famous describing card sleeves. Despite the fear of failure, they've overcome obstacles to become full-time work-from-home fathers doing what they love. They do it to help someone qualify for a Pro Tour, or save a kid a few bucks. Most of all, they do it to make our day a little lighter.

It really is great to see and something for smaller creators to strive towards! The professor will always be an inspiration to mtg content creators. He's helped me a lot. I'd love to see more videos like this, or more recognition in other ways as there are loads of amazing creators out there.

Enter the Battlefield is hands down the most important piece of production that Wizards has produced for Magic in the past 15 years. Congratulations and many thanks to the developers, producers, creators, etc. of this show because this... This right here is what the best CCG/hobby needs as it's promotion platform. I am happy to say I've shared this video and others of Enter the Battlefield to many of my friends and family. Keep up this type of fantastic work and Magic has a bright future because of the notoriety this brings to creators like Paul and the Professor.

How fortunate are we to have Two content creators like Prof and Cheon. You don't quite understand stand the weight of what they do until you see where they came from in their uphill battle. The Mtg community is definitely one of sacrifice and support , the women behind both men especially were quintessential in inspiring them to invest the time to take them where they are now. Taking the plunge to make this informative content like Cheon's and Prof's with the smallest seed of support is what makes me Respect and love this community the most. The game will always have promise as long as we keep conversations like this going with the desire improve each other, and these two men have certainly made profound statements about Pro play, game direction, affordability, creator collaboration and more. My hope is that Wizards continues to spot light more people in this growing world of magic if it's going to stay the force we are enamored with. The company makes a truely painstaking and well made design for the most part, but will need insight of Cheon, The Prof and more creators such as Wedge, Kevin, Dev, Rudy, Seth, The Magic Mics to give them the full perspective of what they get right and call them on their stumbles. The more Wizards have their ears to the ground and actually listen, the better everyone will be. Maybe taking a step in endorsing some of these creators in a such a way to help them fill in the blanks they miss. The wealth of creative people are there and keep this game flourishing, I plead wizards supports the foundation they have at their feet and truely tap into it.

Wow. These types of videos remind me of why I keep playing magic. It is the people that I get to know and the community that we all have. I love meeting someone who as soon as they say they play magic, I immediately feel I have a bond with them. There is no other game that brings people together like that.

it's because of the Professor doing his deck box reviews that I found Aaron Cain, and was able to get a gorgeous box that will last for years, is a constant source of conversation at the card store, and exposes more people to high quality items for Magic. Satin towers are fine, but nothing compares to the hand made wooden Aaron Cain box.

Its weird when I first started doing KZfaq I thought wouldn't it be great to get discovered and rocket up with subs etc. but then I suddenly realised I was dreading doing videos because I wasn't getting feedback in the way of subs and views and likes but since giving up caring about the figures my channel has actually steadily growing and now I am beginning to get invited to content creators tournaments on MTGO and even doing more and more collaborations and I genuinely enjoy creating my videos each week! Its also great to see ETB focus on showing some of the smaller creators and I think it would be amazing for WotC to start doing the same with either picking up on the #FridayMtG some of us smaller content creators have started or by asking us to do streamer showdowns etc.
