Excellent photos by you and Cole and a very balanced review from a Sony user. Pre-visualization is the key, You and Cole could swap cameras and still come up with great results. I'm jealous, my ancestors were from Salzburg and we a dreaming of visiting Austria. Your lovely photos in Viena makes me want to make this a top travel priority. This is one of the more entertaining looks at the X-H2s that I've seen. Thanks for sharing!

Magic has no mercy…went straight ahead and brought the 50 1.2 into the mix…the images from that thing are simply breathtaking, the bokeh… Ive shot Fuji and Sony. I liked the results from fuji (they render sky, water and greens so nice) but LOVE what i can pull from my sony today…granted, the kit is a little bit more expensive…but i can clearly see the difference in my own work

Get the LAE-5 lens adapter buy some old minolta G lens and you will get magical images remember Minolta was known for colors

hello, I want to build a new set and I have been following your videos for a long time. That's why I need your opinion)) I usually take photos, but the photos I take are printed on 2x1 banners, albeit a little. But I also shoot video. I'm torn between sony a7iv and fujiiflm xh2. Do you think it would be enough for someone like Fuji Beniö? Or what would you recommend?

This is fun. I love the teasing you guys gave to each other. Both cameras are great. I’m waiting on my pre-ordered X-H2 (not ‘s’). I’ll also be heading out with a Sony A7iv photographer soon. It will be fun to switch systems for a bit. 😁

@@bbasleigh6149 - That’s why I like so many options. You can get whatever body is suitable for you. For me, the resolution bump is more useful, so that’s why I got the X-H2. Saying that, if I get more video work I might grab the X-H2s as well. I also have the X-T2. It’s a great camera, but hit issues when doing high volume photoshoots in challenging environments and moving subjects. But, I’ll still grab it when I just want to go for a walk around. It’s wonderfully small with one of the f2 primes. I ended up moving away from my Canon 5D/r bodies. Great cameras, but the weight was starting to cause me issues.

I have a Sony a7iv and a Fuji x100F and I have always preferred what I got from the Fuji over the Sony in 60% of the time. For these images, I feel the Sony was way too contrasty and not dreamy compared to the Fuji, which looks timeless.

I've wanted to try the A7IV, I do want to see if I like FF over APS-C but the sony images look nice, but the skin tones always look orange or spray tan.

@@garrett1144 I think those are to do with his presets after editing. I’m here deciding which of these 2 cameras to buy as I need a hybrid system, I’m leaning on the Fuji myself!

For anyone watching and using the A7IV… if you’re getting reddish skin tones, try changing the AWB base to Ambient or White setting. I have to say I prefer the skin tones from the Fuji in these images. Thank you for doing this.

Thank you! I just switched to Sony A7IV from Fuji X-T4. I prefer everything about the Sony other than the skin tones which I have been struggling with (AF is worlds better than Fuji!). Will this help even with raw files?

@@k_a_fon I’m not certain TBH. I say give it shot.. maybe it gives you a better ‘starting point’ with the Raw file. I felt like it helped.

I wish you would have shot all day with the Fuji to really get a feel for it vs your Sony. I love my A7iv! Also have a7lll, a7c and A6600. Sometimes I feel like selling it all and getting the HS2 and XT-5. With a couple of fast primes

I know that Sony is still ahead in the AF department, but the colors, boy! I and a Sony (a7rII) and sold it for the colors I had to fight with all the time. IN this video skin tones and general color harmony is much better with the Fuji.

Cześć! Powiedz jaka rekomendujesz szybkość AF do fotografii ślubnej ? Oraz Picture Profile masz jakoś ustawione czy zwyczajnie standard bez żadnych modyfikacji ? Bo zauważyłem ze zdjęcie różni się na podglądzie od tego w LR na korzyść LR , zwłaszcza pracując na Body A7iv + A7iii

Magic, I do prefer your close shots with 35 in your works. On the other hand, though I suppose your 50 can produce addiction, I found that in your shootings It really works for verticals only (basically the same working distance that you use for horizontal shots with a 35). I would try to challenge myself giving 85 a try and see what happens.

I don't get the hate on the "crop censor" especially when the JPG's from it look better (in my oppinion) than edited Fullframe files, I recently sold all my gear and bought the xh2s, and i'm loving it so far

FF just gives you a look that you can not get with crop...I shoot fujifilm crop but I dont like the crop look as much as FF look

Ah the Sony pics were also unedited? Not bad! I prefer the softer less contrast look from the Fuji files, but one may say I’m biased since I am a Fuji shooter 😜

The Fuji photos throughout whole video are jpgs with slight exposure and contrast correction in LR. Sony files for most part of the video are edited with my presets, but in the last section of the video I show not edited version of some images too (you can see note in the bottom right corner)

You'll be beyond happy with your X-H2s - it's a monster camera. Take into account that in the video my photos were edited - that made them pop more. Also Cole likes natural, way more toned vibe of the images, and that's a personal preference. And also - I had 50/1.2 on Sony haha, there's no direct equivalent for that lens in Fuji land :)

I just sold my X-T4 and replaced it with the A7iv - I wish I had done it sooner...if you shoot RAW, and also need reliable AF, you can't lose with the Sony for the SAME price as the X-H2s.

Well, I considered it. For me, video is a priority, as it's rolling shutter (which is bad on the A7iv) . I hope ibis and af will be good enough. If you could sell your old stuff for a reasonable price, I am sure the A7iv is amazing. Especially compared to the cheaper X-T4 and for photos.

Not liking APSC, but not knowing anything about it and not knowing anything about the XH2s, that's not a great combination. It's not a A7 IV-version, it's a superior camera. The XH2s is superior in any point, as far as the specs are concerned. The A7 IV isn't capable of shooting 15fps with MS and not 40 fps with ES. No stacked sensor. I was completely disappointed about the A7 IV. In a blind test, you won't see a difference between FF and APSC.

Me not liking APS-C comes from my experience with it. I’ve shot with X-pro2 for full wedding season and just didn’t like the output I was getting from wide angle lenses like 23/1.4 - i couldn’t get image I knew from FF with lenses like 24/1.4, 35/1.4 or 50/1.2 (back in the day when I shot canon). Apart from that I have huge respect for fujifilm cameras, they’re just not for me.

The video specs on the Fuji are definitely far ahead of the A7IV’s and also the 40fps in still. You are paying for this the price of a very capable full frame camera. I think it all comes down to the features you require for your kind of shooting. If you have no use for those, then the choice is not that obvious in favour of the Fuji. That’s my current dilemna: currently owner of an XT2, i was eagerly waiting for the XHS2 and wasn’t expecting this price point (nor these features to be honest). On one hand I could spend £2,500 on the Fuji and keep my (great) lenses. On the other hand, I could sell all my Fuji gear for £2,000 and switch to the a7IV (or Z6III sometime later this year, hopefully not so distant future) and buy a couple of nice Tamron lenses. The price difference between the 2 scenarii would not be that different. All that being said, before the XT2, I was shooting FF with the Nikon D610 and my best pictures were definitely shot with the Fuji. In the end, the more rational choice would still be to go with Fuji TBH but am still undecided. :-)

Very beautiful photos! But… But what’s the point of doing this video when at the end you just express a distaste for APS-C sensors by saying you don’t like them anyways! No objective conclusions to be drawn from the comparison since you don’t like one sensor over the other to start with. Despite this, I like the photos you presented here. Beautiful.

I've had the X-HS2 for a week in the UK moving from Canon 5DMkIII, the video from it is lovely but the stills are poor. My main lesson from the last week is actually how remarkable my 10 yr old Canons are, 10 yrs old but still produce much nicer Raw files than Fuji's new flagship camera. The X-HS2 might be ok for travel or weddings or kid photography but it doesn't have enough image quality for my commercial work for clients here in London. It's a great shame as I am desperate for a camera that can do both good 4k video and quality stills. I will keep it for my projects but I will be taking my Canons on my commercial commissions this week.

Can I ask which lenses you are using? The older XF lenses are pretty dated and perform well below par when it comes to sharpness and aberrations. The newer lm f1.4 primes are much better in both regards.
