These things make great gifts and are an excellent way to use up some of those pieces in your scrap bin that you’re having a hard time parting with. This video show my process of turning scraps into a bottle opener that hangs on the refrigerator and catches your bottlecaps for you.

Very nicely done. I like the way you used much smaller pieces to make them up. Really added some character to the pieces.

very nice project. just a note: I would suggest the polarity of the magnet is oriented correctly before the epoxy step :-0

Hey Mike, what does the polarity have to do with anything if it's just trying to grab at a metal surface? I might be missing something.

I've shopped around quite a bit, but mostly from eBay and Amazon. You can find them cheapest on eBay, just look closely at the listing... lots of them come on the slow boat from China and take 30+ days to get here.

How many bottletops get caught up before they start falling off?

Good question. With the magnets I use, I have never reached that point. I usually pull the whole pile of them off before anything falls. I'd say 10+, and now I'm going to have to test that out.
