Magnificent Nufenen Pass | Swiss Alps Motorcycle Tour | Day 6 Part 4

Day 6 Episode 4 in the series of videos chronicling myself and Paul’s 8-day tour to Switzerland and the Swiss Alps during Whitsun 2023. Paul did the tour on his Kawasaki Z900RS with me on my Yamaha Tracer 9 GT. Friday 2nd June. Our last full day exploring the Swiss Alps and in this video we head west on the incredible Nufenen Pass.
We take the road through the valley before again commencing an ascent from the lush green pastures up above the snowline. On our way up we had an encounter with some mountain goats posing for photographs followed by a stop to take in the view. We continue our ascent until an incredible Alpine vista came into view, one of those incredible experiences that connects with the soul! From this point we begin our descent through a series of hairpin bends and some incredible views down into the valley below. Passing down past the snow line we follow the meanderings of the river through a glorious landscape on a ride we didn't want to end. All to soon we reach the end of the pass where we take a break before embarking on the final ride of the day.

Peter has completely run out of superlatives here, Dave. What a fabulous riding holiday this has been. How did you cope, day after day with such beauty all around you. That cloudscape was such a wonderful complement to those mountains and green valleys. So many great memories for you both. Wowzer indeed. Felt a bit chilly though... 😂

Thanks Peter, I think Nufenen was is my favourite of the passes we rode. If there is such thing as a spiritual home, I think the Swiss Alps is mine. The cloudscape, when it came into view totally blew me away. I wish we’d stopped at the ski centre and spent some time to properly soak it up. I started looking back at the footage ready for the forthcoming Skye tour videos and there are some incredible moments awaiting. 👍🏻

@@Lanes-Explorer5733 it has been an incredible year, probably my best year of motorcycling ever. Back home tomorrow then back to Wales Boxing Day until new year. I’ll use the period between Christmas and New Year to plan next years big tour. I only set out to make a record of our rides for myself but it really is inspiring when others gain some enjoyment from them. And, the icing on the cake is the marvellous new friends, like yourself I’ve made from making and sharing the videos. 🙏🏼👍🏻

@@MerciaMoto wonderful 🤗🤗 The Power of the KZfaqs. I echo your thoughts as I too have made some wonderful friends this year. Really never expected it 😊. Safe journey home today. Oh and in the next few days there's going to be a new LanesExplorer video where, at the end I refer to the standard exhaust on the Hunter. Please don't see this as any criticism of your changing yours from standard. 🙏

Such fabulous views, shame about all the pylons and cables, I can fully understand why they are needed though.

Thanks Mervyn, it is amazing up there. I believe they produce large amounts of hydro electricity up there hence the transmission infrastructure. I agree it does blight the environment unfortunately. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, it really is greatly appreciated. 👍🏻

I agree that they seem to use a lot of hydro power, which is understandable, Shame they couldn't find a way of hiding the cables though. @@MerciaMoto

" from Paul to be just about Perfect .. Making my Christmas this year .. I know you are taking a break in Wales .. So you are in the green and Blue .. Soak up the peace and quiet REcharge the soul .
