In this video, I will show you the system I just completed building with my new favorite solar components from Magnum Energy. I am switching all my future solar inverters, chargers, charge controllers, and power panels over to Magnum. They are that good! #magnumenergy #solar #solarenergy #sensata

Awesome! I love the paralleling/stacking ability of both the inverter and the charge controller. Makes it so easy to scale up a system over time.

I installed a Magnum system about 7 years ago and it has been bullet proof. Runs like a champ every day. I think I have only shut it off 2-3 times since I installed it. I run about 1000kWh/month out of it. Only problem is, I don't think they sell them anymore...

I followed your videos about your installation and did mine with three of them. Pandemic really hit them while their were moving to Mexico. Most of the famous solar sellers stopped selling their products due the lack of availability for months. In my opinion the best Off-Grid solar hardware ever made.

Hello friend, that brand is for fans, it has been stagnant for many years, at this point it has not developed a monitoring app or integration with other devices such as raspberry and it is also extremely expensive for what it offers.
@LDSreliance
@LDSreliance Ай бұрын
They aren't innovating at the same pace as the lower end of the market, true. But their products are bulletproof and built in USA/America so there is still a market segment for them. I would say they are better for whole home and commercial projects and much less desirable for smaller projects or for hobbyists/solar nerds. I'm not a fanboy by any means but I would trust that inverter charger over any other single piece of equipment that I own. It is an absolute monster.

It was between Tilapia and catfish but the catfish just get too big for this 55 gallon stock tank. I wish I had room for an IBC tote or something but I just don't... yet. Hopefully I'll find a house with some land in the next year or two and leave the suburbs for good.

I am happy that you are using the magnums. As I said before I have magnum components $$$ that I never installed yet but currently I am running two Growatt inverters with built in everything along with 60 kwh, over kill, of lithoum battery bank and running almost whole house and very happy. I will use my magnums at some loint but you can't beat the Growatt along with eg4 server rack batteries for convenience. Cheera

@@LDSreliance awesome, I’ll just install a separate solar data panel. The meg solar unit is over $1000 probably over kill for a small camper van. Yet, I do have the meg RS Remote controller display unit already so I just might pay the $$$ for the meg solar unit.

It' is very sad that most people that live in the USA don't know that Canadian and Mexicans both live in America and are Americans
@LDSreliance
@LDSreliance 2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is very ignorant. It is called North AMERICA and we are in a free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. I'd rather buy goods manufactured in Mexico from a company that employs hundreds of US citizens at its headquarters than a copy paste design shipping from overseas for a few bucks less.

for mining you need a cool place so your GPU perform best. for solar you need a hot place so it can perform best.
@LDSreliance
@LDSreliance 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, solar works best in cooler temperatures, as well. I agree that the mining would benefit from cooler temperatures but I'm operating the GPU's at 100% stock settings in an open air rig. So it should be fine. Not ideal, but fine.

Ordered a PT100, 175 minipanel and a 4448 PAE last year. Took almost a year to get my components. Set them up, and, to my disappointment, the PT100 and the 4448 were not fuctioning correctly. Have been trying to speak to someone in warranty for over a week. No response to multiple voicemails. I had such high hopes. Really disappointed with product quality and customer service response.

I think Magnum is done. I purchased one of the last 4448’s come to find out and the charger won’t work. I’ve called all over the nation trying to find someone to repair it under warranty. All but one place said they think Magnum won’t come back also won’t do service work for them anymore since they don’t get paid. I have left many many messages and emails with them also have called every number I can find. Nothing! I’m stuck with a broken $5000.00 dollar inverter with zero warranty. I did find a place that had the parts to repair mine. I ended up paying them $330.00 for the parts. I just have to take a day to remove it from the wall to perform the repair and hope it works. I live totally off grid 20 miles from power. Not to happy with Magnum right now. Even if to do make a comeback I don’t think I would recommend them to anyone.

The equipment requires 4 inches. That is what it has. There is active air movement through the shed. There are no codes for low voltage DC but I have followed the manufacturer recommendations on all of my equipment.

@@LDSreliance look in book to see if you can mount inverter in that position. If I'm not mistaking you can't
@LDSreliance
@LDSreliance 2 жыл бұрын
Here is a direct quote from the manual: 2.1.4 Mounting the Inverter The inverter base can reach a temperature up to 194°F (90°C), and should be mounted on a noncombustible surface*. This surface and the mounting hardware must also be capable of supporting at least twice the weight of the inverter. To meet regulatory requirements, the MS-PAE Series must be mounted in one of the following positions-as shown in Figure 2-2: • above or under a horizontal surface (shelf or table), • or, on a vertical surface (wall) with the DC terminals toward the bottom, the MP-HOOD (inverter hood) installed over the exhaust vents (top), and either the ME-CB or MPX-CB (Conduit box), the MMP Series (single inverter enclosure), or the MP Series (multiple inverter enclosure) attached to the inverter’s DC end (bottom). Mine is in accordance with the top bullet point as it is directly underneath a shelf and, as I am understanding the language, does not require a specific orientation. I could be wrong but that is how I am interpreting it.

@@LDSreliance I have the book in front of me. There's a pic in the book mounting feet setting on top of a shelf flat or under the shelf with mounting feet up. Look again yours is incorrect by installation instructions
@LDSreliance
@LDSreliance 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe so. But that isn't how the wording reads. Either way, this way is much easier for me to get access to in my limited space. If I put the DC connections on the bottom (which is also where the buttons, ports, and AC access panel is) then I can't get access to them without removing the entire 55 pound inverter from the wall. I'm not worried about overheating or ventilation.

You are right, usually. You can absolutely get larger solar panels cheaper, per Watt, than small panels. If you shop for decent deals. But keep in mind that larger panels also must be shipped by freight so there is some extra cost there. I can usually find a decent 100W panel with free shipping for about $80 USD. So as long as you are getting large panels cheaper than that I think you are ahead of the game.
