Video walkthru of the Magnum Inverter wired to an MPSL175-30D Load center. All of the tier one inverter/charger manufacturers (Outback, Schneider, Magnum, Midnite) make load centers for the inverters. Do yourself a favor and get the load center to go with your inverter!

Great video. I have to check out all your videos. I'm planning to do a off grid solar system for a rodent shed and for fans for my rabbits for the hot summer days and maybe heat for colder weather.

Brian Davis you fired it off early! Yes those are the mnspd300vac surge protectors by midnite solar. Do you want to buy an inverter. I can help you figure out what you need and talk you through it and sell it to you as cheap as anyone on the web

Gain Solar Services yes when we get to that point I planned on calling you with what I'm hoping to achieve with our needs hopefully you can help me come up with a design that we'll be happy with. I'll keep you posted on our progress, thanks for getting back to me so soon.

Gain Solar Services I'm going to start doing my lay out of what I'm hoping for in a system I know it's expensive so I can't afford any mistakes I have a big wish list do you have a website I can go to or? This whole thing is for my 40ft MCI MC9 hwy coach I know I want solar and maybe wind turbine for extended stays mounted on the roof but quick releases for travel I know you can buy commercial panels with big watts output I have a Honda EV6010 50 amp generator for backup and the coach has a 24 volt electrical system the alternator puts out 250 Hot amps so some kind of state of the art inverter regulator I bought one for my last coach almost 20 years ago by cruising equipment out of Seattle. Anyway that's kind of what I have to start with nothing on the inside will be 220 volts but wonder if a split phase might be the way to go and lithium batteries sounds like the way to go but are crazy expensive sorry for the small book here lets talk a little I would appreciate your feed back oh system design thanks for your videos easy to understand.

I just received my MPDH175-30D a few days ago. Even though it is going to be powering up just 1 inverter for the time being; I can say it is a bit overkill, but I do like a lot of options and it can get very expensive if you pigeonhole yourself. I've looked in to the other "food groups" and you really can't beat the internal real-estate the Magnum Panel. I currently have quite a few 48 volt DC telecom gear and the DC load centre will definitely keep them happy with a plus of keeping everything neat and orderly. Now, I need to dust off some of my industrial power control skills and figure out a way to integrate the standalone AC coupled solar and generator to be fully automated without letting the preinstalled smoke out. Making your own power now is up to your imagination and pretty much limitless short of $$$. ;-P

Felax Chow Have you bought an inverter yet? I’ll sell you one at a fine price. You could use a relay controlled by the generator circuit to switch the GTI off. Do you have an automatic start generator.
@felaxchow207
@felaxchow207 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I already have the MS4448 for a few years and been tinkering with it. My generator does have an automatic start function, at the moment it is mainly remote start and manual transfer for the time being. My GTI setup is 6.4 kW and it is broken up into two arrays and I would like to have both arrays up, but I don't believe you can stack the ACLD-40 together as of yet. Since I can split them up, it is not a big deal. The fun part is moving the shelving unit, then the dryer and lots of measuring if I have the room to on that wall to put everything on it. It took me 2 years to upgrade to a metal roof and another 5 for my GT solar. Traded a few parts along the way and having fun at the same time. Plus, I need to fix my solar powered gable fan before it get too hot in the attic. Good times...

Urs Odermatt i use them with fine strand wire in terminals for solid and 7-11 strand. Are you using all fine stranded?
@ursodermatt8809
@ursodermatt8809 6 жыл бұрын
the large diameter wires for the batteries and inverters are fine strand wires. i use the boot lace ferrules for everything. if you have a good set with many colours they come in handy to colour code the wires as well. the ferrules are very helpful for inserting small sensing wires into the recalcitrant terminals. i am not quite sure about that, but europaen standards the ferrules are compulsory. the boot lace ferrules are particularly handy for screw terminals. peronally i think screw terminals should be outlawed.

Urs Odermatt awesome response. I’m not sure what a boot lace ferrule is. I have a set perhaps I should make a video about ferrules.

boot lace ferrules is just another name for the ferrules, those bits at the end of the wires you showed in the video

Hi I'm new at this I've got a MC9 hwy coach I'm going to put an inverter setup in it. what a great looking unit I've built a coach years ago we didn't have an all in one it would have made life so much easier I want to run a fairly large battery bank and solar on the roof I've even considered a wind turbine with it mounted on the roof but easily removable for travel if anyone has any thoughts on this it would be appreciated. Oh I gotta ask what are the glass or plastic devices on the bottom of the unit? Sorry I told you I'm new at this with today's technology. Love your videos great explanation of what's what. thanks, Brian

I have a Magnum Energy MS4024PAE MS-PAE Series 4000W 24VDC Pure Sine Inverter that I plan to use with my Renogy 3000 Watt Cabin Kit solar set up. The Renogy kit came with a MidNite load center and a MidNite Classic 200 charge controller. What would be the advantage of using the Magnum load Center? The Magnum load center certainly looks like a higher quality unit. We are off grid. I am planning on either getting a 10,000 watt Generac propane generator or a military diesel generator to use the auto start with the Magnum inverter.

Could you help me understand about wiring a generator to be used for powering the oven and a dryer. Would the generator be wired through the inverter to the dryer or would you bypass it? Also could the generator be powering the dryer and excess power be charging batteries at the same time? You have excellent videos btw!
@GainSolarPower
@GainSolarPower 6 жыл бұрын
Dont try and backup a dryer or oven with solar. It's a losing battle, heat is too energy dense and if you want to backup a dryer or an oven you should convert it to gas or find another way to do what that appliance does. I'd use a clothes line for the dryer and a green egg or grill for the oven.
