Quote from Magpul Tech rep: The PRO LR rear sight is designed to be sighted in at 200 Meters, you set the sight to 2 and then use the front post to get the rifle sighted in for elevation. If you do not have a 200 Meter range you should be able to Zero at 50 meters and achieve around a 200 meter zero. but there is a lot of factors that will play a role, such as sight radius, load, bullet weight, barrel length and gas port size and then throw in weather conditions and altitude all can effect the adjustment. From Magpul's site: "The 200-600 m elevation adjustment wheel is a hybrid calibration taking into consideration CALIBERS (5.56 and 7.62 NATO), CARTRIDGES (M855, M193, Mk262, TSX 55gr, M80, M118LR), BULLET WEIGHTS (55-77gr for 5.56 and 147-175gr for 7.62), BARREL LENGTHS (14.5-20"), SIGHT RADIUS (14.5-20" for 5.56 and 18-20" for 7.62), POINT OF IMPACT DISCREPANCY (+2.5" to -5.0"), and assuming standard temperature and pressure."

I apologize if it's a silly question but if you have elevation adjustment up front, why the need for it in the rear? Just for quicker adjustment? Thing looks great but I'm just debating whether to spend the extra on this LR version or to just go with the standard rear.

Utilizing the adjustable rear sight allows the shooter to engage targets at variable distances. The numbered rear dial allows the shooter to “dial up” to known distance adjustments in order to accurately engage targets.

Think of it this way. Its a range adjustment, not an elevation adjustment. Use your front adjustment to zero at a given range, then use to rear to quickly adjust to different distances.

2020-й год. На новом прицеле MBUS PRO LR Adjustable Sight Rear колесо вертикальных поправок почти невозможно провернуть без перчаток и пассатижного усилия. Мокрый вообще невозможно. Причина - излишне жесткая основная пружина, создающая усилие на стойку апертуры одновременно в вертикальном и горизонтальном направлениях. Обратной стороной она упирается в диск поправок, противодействуя ему. Рецепт: снять колесо поправок, выбив штифт. Разбирать аккуратно, изнутри на колесо кроме основной пружины действует пружина с шариком кликов. Ослабить основную пружину изменив угол обоих ее упоров до минимально достаточного, чтобы не страдало удержание стойки в верхнем 6-м положении. Важно не повредить геометрию изгибов и колец пружины. Пружину шарика кликов можно не ослаблять. Собрать, смазав все соприкасающиеся поверхности. Результат - достаточно легкое вращение и четкие клики. Можно пользоваться. Всем удачи. ✊
