Everyone's vision and shooting technique are different. Basically the further apart the more accurate the sights will be. Remember your Stockweld/ EYE RELIEF and VISION will play a factor in how your sights should be spaced. This is proberly why Magpul doesn't give you an exact distance to place them. Additionally they'll fit Carbines too, so it will not be the same for a full size weapon. I am a Marine Veteran an have played with weapons for over 40 years. I was anti- Red Dot for decades, UNTIL I PUT THEM ON A PISTOL & AK. My old 62 year old eyes appreciate the Red Dot now. I have always been a decent shot with Iron Sights, now it is simply no challenge for my shooting needs. I only hunt and plink with the Grandkids now, of course I have a few for SHTF ( zoombies) and home defense . I just pickup the Gen 2 of these sights to add to my Galil Gen2. Don't give up on Red Dots until you try them. I commend you for learning Irons first, you'll laugh when you put a Red Dot on there and shooting becomes boring. Thanks for the Great Video and sharing. I changed my mind and let the Galil stay at the shop. Instead, I picked up the KR 103 for a couple reasons. First an unexpected medial bill . Second, the Galil package was disappointing. No sights and that card board box? All for $1900.00. Plus the KR 103 is American made and parts are easier in an SHTF situation. Nothing against Galil but LIFE made me switch my choice. I am dressing my KR 103 up with some add on and hope it can be as good as my Riley Defense ( better trigger) and my MAK 90 AK.

Thanks. Just got mine today. Going to try them out in the morning. Should be my primary sights for awhile.

I just got mine in, earlier this week, and placed them on my rifle build. They're sturdy and tight! I haven't shot the rifle yet to dial them in. I look forward to learning to shoot with iron sights.

I put the pros on my AR-15. I placed them as far apart on top rail as I could. Popped them on went to range and they were accurate from 30 yards without adjusting post or wind age at all. Target was a 9 inch steel plate. Would def recommend. Adjustment is super easy and these look rugged.

You don’t need a screw driver. It’s plastic! Just rip it off like I did lol. I love these sights. Have them on all my rifles except the magnified rifles of course.

The PROS are all metal. The regular flip-up MBUS are polymer.

You honestly want them as far apart as possible anyways to accommodate a scope/optic.

you could also lighten up that rifle if you removed that D cell Maglite illumination device with a smaller one.. perhaps a streamlite.

@@jeffheyer7783you can use white out, its a trick I would do to help trainees in basic training when their eyes would get tired from trying to zero their iron sights, helped give them contrast against a black silhouette

That weapon light looks really low quality honestly. And these don’t have the flip up button bc it’s a weak point overall. These are more reliable than sights dependent on a spring to keep them upright.
@jeffheyer7783
@jeffheyer7783 5 ай бұрын
Exactly. The constant use of that pop up button is the biggest point of weakness. Pop up is not necessary.. it only takes a couple seconds..

Which model are these? The magpul pro I see online seem to have a thicker front sight blade

That's just the one my local gun store had on the shelf. It is possible that over time manufacturers might tweak their items and the stock photos no longer match. It's always nice to see something in person before you buy it.

You put the sights as far apart as your rifle allows, there isn’t a correct distance to space them other than that.

Good video man, keep up with the rifle shooting and you'll be just fine. By the way, MBUS stands for Main Back Up Sight.

I really don't remember. I believe it's whatever the cheapest Amazon thing that was available at the time. It's lasted a surprisingly long time.

Your zero at 25 yards should be low by .75” around that to be accurate at 100 yards. If anyone is watching this and new to shooting, the zero that shoots high by 2 inches at 25 yards will probably have some insanely absurd zero like 5 yards and 800 yards. I cannot stress enough how much at like 9:00 this guy is wrong. Your zero is insanely off it’s completely opposite of what you think. Your shots are gonna be even more inches high at 100! Like not a foot but maybe a foot I’m not even kidding. Edit because this has to be explained. Say you have a traditional 50/200 zero. That means that the bullet is going up at 50 and down at 200 and they meet the same point on the sighting system. So every shot that is before 50 will be low, every shot between 50 and 200 will be high, and every shot after 200 will be low. If you are hitting high at 25 yards, your muzzle is pointed at the sky in relation to your sights, and that is a MASSIVE SAFETY ISSUE. I cannot stress enough how unsafe this video is. Your bullets are absolutely flying into the sky you have no idea. I’m surprised this video is still up over a year later. It is concerning.

Wow. You really need to read-up on how to sight in a rifle because you have some things wrong…. Download a target and print it off. You can download targets that show point of aim and point of impact for sighting to a 50 or 100 yard zero @25 yards if that’s your max range distance. Search for “target for 100 yard zero at 25 yards”. (Replace the 100 with a 50 if that’s your preference)

If you want to be “combat accurate” you need to zero that weapon again, properly.

If you want to lower the weight, Dutch the flashlight and get a red dot optic.

The further apart the more accurate you can be. They shouldn’t have to tell you that. It’s common sense. Or at least common enough for someone who should be familiar with fire arms.

I mean if you pay attention this guy is hitting high at 25 yards which is the complete opposite of what it should be for a 100 yard zero. This guy has no idea what he’s talking about the information he put out is unsafe. His shots will not impact at 100 yards they will be more than a couple inches high. Maybe over a foot at 100 yards. This guy definitely has almost no experience. Look at the 25 yard group as well. I would let it go if he wasn’t putting this out as if what he said makes any sense at all.
