Even Capt Amrinder has mentioned in his book The Last Sunset that Patiala & other states made a plan that they had to take side either of English or Maharaj Ranjit Singh . He wrote that ultimately it was decided that if they took side of Maharaj , they would die immediate death . If they took side of English , they would die slow death as with Tuberculosis . They thought that ultimately they would cease to be Kings one day

A big thank to professor but he needs to correct the years. Mahraja Ranjit Singh passed away in 1839 and he is saying Ahmed shah Abdali attacked india at that time. He is good historian if he moves 150 years in history then I do not know how much he knows

My humble opinion about these two gentlemen is that although Professor Kashmira Singh is specialist and knowledgeable about history of punjab specially Punjab during 17 & 18th century but he is slightly biased.Sikh as a religion was not present,punjabis were only punjabis only.This devision was created by English for their self interest.Divide & rule.

Even simple rich people used to have more than one wives . They openly had more wives . Even now politicians & some very rich people have more wives or mistresses . But according to law monogamy has been made compulsory . So They keep them illegally

In those times kings had many wives, official and unofficial. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was king of the Sikh Empire he needed worthy heirs who would be able to govern, administate and protect his people and land. His father Mann Singh and grandfather Chand Singh played key roles in nurturing and guiding him from childhood. This was the rock ( base) which shaped him as a man. .

@@manjitkaur7943 Maharaj Ranjit Singh got big kingdom due to bravery of Misl Sardars who weakened Afghans & didn't allow them to cross Khyber river . On the other they unfurled Khalsa flag on Lal Qila thus weakening Mughals . He got good advisers & ministers for his Secular governance . But once in saddle he fell in Vices of traditional Kings by marrying many times , Liquor & other intoxicants . He failed to nurture a successor under influence of unfaithful ,treacherous Dogra brothers & ignored his loyal advisors . This was the Actual reason for decay of his rule immediately after his death . British are unnecessarily blamed for this . British actually needed a Buffer state to counter Afghan & Russian influence in India

Sham Singh Attariwala diya Sikh patni vi sati hoia si. Ranjit Singh di noo, Sandhu sardara di dhee vi Sati hoiyan si. Ennu "Hindu Raniya" keh ke pochay naa pao Sikh history te. Maharani Jindan de bhra di Sikh patni vi Sati hoi si. Pochay na paao.

Hamare Sikh xindagi meh ajj ve buhut hindu revaaj/rassum chal rehe he..eg tel chuana, chitta de time de bedam, body naal rakna, Sati nay karna.. Yeh saab Guru Nanak dev ji ne munna keeaa, aur sumjia, yer sub band karo. Hum ajj ve samjer nehee !!
