I’ve never hunted, but want to learn! But... it’s on my bucket list to fish over in Florida! How amazing to be able to live there and be able to catch your own dinner! I’m in Alberta Canada so thinking it would be easier to learn to hunt. My husbands friends don’t think I’m serious about wanting to learn the whole process. From dispatch, to cleaning, butchering to processing! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through my iPad!!

Cuda will hold up on its own, but when it's next to a fish like Mahi, it looses some luster. Cuda tastes good, but it's a bit stringy compared to a fish like Mahi. I'm not surprised at the results.

@craigerking9790
@craigerking9790 4 жыл бұрын
@@richardgao7937 not necessarily, reason people don't take barracuda is because of ciguatera poisoning not because of the taste. It is a poisoning they get because they eat so many reef fish. That is why the smaller ones are the ones ppl eat because they have eaten less reef species just because they have been alive less. Ciguatera is no joke and ppl that get it say they would rather be dead then get it, so most ppl just don't take that risk.
@craigerking9790
@craigerking9790 4 жыл бұрын
Not parasites, they can get ciguatera which doesn't kill you but makes you wish you were dead, smaller ones have less of a chance of having it.

Apparenly you think it is OK to spend more than 8-- dollars on fuel to catch a Mahi Mahi that can usually be caught very close to the Florida Coast. My view is that this is basically disgusting. There are families that cannot afford canned food during this pandemic. Showing off how you spend more than 800 dollars to catch a fish worth less than 30 dollars is simply disgusting

watching this shows the sort of person Rob is, its all about the activity and having fun, there was no footage of him catching a fish, just teaching, encouraging and bringing the fish aboard to pass on his enjoyment to others. Rob needs to come out with some recipe guides (not a traditional cookbook, but cooking guides and suggestions for people to make similar yet experiment for themselves) as for fish i haven't had the luxury of trying either :(

What a great video. I say this a lot but they are all amazing. There’s something about this one though. I cried a few times during this video because of the actual time spent and when the one young man said “I got a Bucket list fish” it made me realize we live in such a prosperous part of the world for fishing (Sebastian). Those kids got to not only catch the fish of a lifetime but now have a personal best to try and fish for again to catch a bigger one! The moment Mr Paul said he loved his kid’s congratulated them and said he was proud of them got me in my feels. It’s so important to take your kids fishing. Some of the best memories are with my dad teaching me to fish and catch a bunch and then be able to teach my kids the same!!! Best of times!!! That’s what #DeerMeatForDinner is for. A lot of people don’t have the means to have a boat or rods to do so. So to see this happen is absolutely amazing!! Top 5 #DMFD videos to date (personally). Thank you Rob for once again taking us with you on these adventures!! Thanks for keeping us sane during this pandemic! And yes barracuda is absolutely delicious!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Paul has got to be on cloud nine knowing his kids did so well and I noticed while Rob was getting the fish prepared that one of Paul's daughters walked up to Rob and anyway she said " Yes Sir " to him That's awesome to me to hear

Yes, grew up eating barracuda on the west coast....we steaked them as cooked them on the barbq. It was one of my mother Rosemary's favorite fish when we went deep sea fishing.
