Will Sultan Suleiman spare Ibrahim's life?
Sultan Suleiman gets disturbed when İbrahim wants to leave the palace again. He endungeons him without a hesitation. As Sultan Suleiman decides about his vizier, he only shares the situation with the Sultana. Ibrahim appears before Sultan Suleiman. Sultan Suleiman and Ibrahim has a tense conversation. Sultan Suleiman makes an important decision about İbrahim. Meanwhile Hatice grows a hope that Ibrahim is back to the palace and waits for the moment that she will get together with him. The Sultana wants to hide the truth from her. However, Hurrem tells everything happened to Hatice. Hatice reacts harshly after what she has learned.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

@Dreamfyre Oh no I completely agree with you. Hurrem wouldn't hurt a child, but when it was obvious that any time there was any hint of something happening to the sultan, Mahidevran and the gang would start circling like vultures...I don't know if Mustafa would have hurt his siblings, but it wasn't a chance she was willing to take. After all, Mahi was responsible for Mehmet's death. Hurrem didn't toss the first stone, she just made sure she was left standing once the rocks started to fly.

Speaking from the perspective of the show here: To be fair Mahidevran tried to kill Hürrem after her first time with Süleyman. She had a hard time accepting the customs of the hareem, and that is that the Sultan has multiple children with multiple women. Even though she wasn't Süleyman's first concubine. Mahidevran later then put her own son in the middle of her fight with Hürrem.

@@daisiejensen4818 that's Hurrem who wasn't herself the first concubine and almost killed or burnt or tortured every women who went serve Suleiman. She's the one who started this. What mahi did was gradually done by Hurrem every time a new women entered Suleiman's chamber. Mahi after certain time was in manners and accepted this cruel rule of harem where Hurrem lastly killed Suleiman's new born too. Bcz of Hurrem threatening and eyeing over that throne, first to divide brother among power making mahi absolutely sure what she'll do using Mehmed mahi did what she should have! Pls Hurrem also lied and made tears to get what she wanted mahi only had her son so she also shared her pain. Just as Suleiman does for Hurrem Mustafa also wanted to protect his beloved mother. As a sultana with only the hope of her qualified son mahi did the 100% right thing. Hurrem had other sons to, mahi could have done this with others or before but she did when Hurrem literally ask for it. I don't see a single prespective not to support her decision. Rather Hurrem was blinded by revenge and for her sole greed she destroyed a empowering dynasty once and for all. Even if she supported Beyazid I might have no regrets but she herself doomed all. Thus she got punishment knowing her last life that her own son would kill another. As for Jahangir , she couldn't celebrate the death of Mustafa as karma returned to her within a few days. She was just a greedy and manipulative women who my got name and fame but no peace. I think that's how it goes. Mostly she was responsible for her no peace. The times Hurrem dig her own grave and was insulted by Suleiman, the pain she got bcz of she own jealously and greed , Mahi being on the streets was more in peace and self respect person. But the world is like that, power only comes to those ppl who r greedy and rdy to do anything, to lower any level and that's Hurrem!

I don't like Hurram. She is very aggressive. She deceives Suleyman by constantly telling him that she loves him. She is like a snake.

What would have happened if Mahidevran became Valide Sultan? 🤔

She probably would have governed similarly to Ayşe Hafsa, who would have been the only example of leadership in the Imperial harem she would have seen. To be fair, the actual Mahidevran shows signs of being a careful woman, who was capable of sound strategy, so I don't think the harem would have suffered under her and Mustafa probably would have continued to depend on her. The bigger unknown is what would happen to the progress of what we know as the Sultanate of Women.

@Redluna32 I personally think it would have been pure horror is mahidevil became valide sultan. She beat hurrem in real life for no reason. And she most definitely would have had hurrems children killed.

Like see the comparison between Turhan Sultan and Mahidevran sultan (as per the show) 1. They both were the first haseki's , first woman of the Sultan 2. Both beared the Heir Apparent 3. Were in good graces of Valide (Hafsa and Kosem). The Valide's also supported them 4. Were casted aside pretty quickly 5. The Sultan married another woman (Hürrem and Hümasah) 6. Both the legal wife's beared the Sultan , son 7. And yet at the very end,since Turhan used her own mind, she won

@Dreamfyre well once he did walk in on mahidevran trying to hit hurrem and he made her apologize and then she ran to her son and cried and he had a fight with his father and she lied about what happened saying hurrem attacked her but that was the only time.

Hurrem was cheap. Because of her poor efsun suffered. The only difference between mahidevran and hurrem was that hurrem backstab and mahidevran plays open game. This is how succed thron.
