Solo, 12 mile loop at the peak of the fall colors. Well... until we got up into the mountains that is... Three more peaks knocked off the Maine 4k list.
This was an incredible trip. The trails were amazing and fun. Challenging but not killer. This loop is definitely on the do-over list.

when you first mentioned SAR looking for Geraldine i thought wtf they found her last year why they still looking, maybe they are like me and dont want to find things in the last place they looked :P thanks for sharing, i did manage to do the puzzle mtn side of the grafton loop but some things conspired against me doing the old speck side. next spring ill do the old speck side and the puzzle mtn side again so i can say i thru hiked it :P

I feel your pain. A series of unfortunate events unfolded and prevented me from completing the west side of the loop also. If the weather manages to hold out I'm going to attempt the Old Speck side this fall, otherwise, I'll be heading over in the spring as well. Did you enjoy the east side of the loop? Only doing half of Grafton was bitter sweet for me. Bummed that I didn't make the whole loop in one go, but stoked I have a good reason to get back to the area again.

ii loved it, was sore for 2 days after as i carried way to much food(to shut up the girlfriend) i did that side in days which wasnt as quick as i hoped but my hope is by spring my weight will be down even more and i will be able to get it all done in 3 full days. so far i have dropped below what i weighed when i was 25 :P which is 100+ pounds down.

I remember the soreness from Grafton... Congratulations on the weight loss. 3 days would be an aggressive pace for the whole loop (for me) - I'm planning on doing the just west side in 3 days. That's a fairly slow pace but it'll give me plenty of time to film and just relax.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share it. You made it fun! I thing that rusty gear thing was some sort of old fashioned wench or come along. Actually now that I think of it maybe a water pump!

Thank you again for making these videos! In the past month I have tagged the 2 Crockers, 2 Bigelows, Sugarloaf & Spaulding last week and Abraham yesterday. I plan to go back for Redington with a friend who intends to hit all 3 ('ll just chill on South Crocker while she tags North Crocker). Is there a privy at the Crocker Cirque camp site? I didn't check it out the first time I was there.

Thanks for the support and congrats on bagging a wholemessa peaks! There is a privy near the Crocker Cirque camp site. It was a little old when I was there a couple years back but it was clean and well kept despite it's age." Have fun returning to the area with your friend. I love this area - so many peaks to grab all at once and not a bad view in any direction.

Father Goat I went back and hiked South Crocker (again) with my friend. She went over and tagged North Crocker and I waited on the overlook. When we returned we went over to Redington and down the logging roads like you did in this video. It was beautiful that way and thanks again!

Did you ever do Mt Abraham? That's right near there and is a 4000 footer. I've stayed on a friends farm on the southeast end of it

Yup, I've done Mt. Abrahm a couple times. Once I didn't film, and the second time I filmed but haven't edited yet. If only we could get an extra 6-8 hours added to the day :)
