I became a teenager in the late 90s and I respected any dude in the vicinity of Newark NJ who didn't join the bloods and they were someone that would get busy. I know they got offers to get recruited because I got offers from 83s and 60s. Crips were a lot less in number but they usually weren't punks because it's easy to just join the majority. I stayed neutral and i felt like it was stupid to bang for another neighborhood that I don't even know. I'm from Springdale not Crenshaw

I'm from D.C. where B & C's were only seen on T.V. unless you went to L.A. I remember in 95 visiting family in the BX on 181st & Fordham. One day out of no where, some dudes just started Buck 50'n random people. They were slashing Kids, Old ladies, people coming out of the bodega, yelling and screaming blood at the same time. I knew then NYC was in for a rude awakening on what was to come as far as gang culture. The sad part was watching NYC go from trend setters and leaders, to followers.

Facts I'm from 184 Davison I remember individuals from the third real street dudes.Saying u down with the king stuff or blood stuff they weren't happy .What's ironic is that we're OG mack was from Crazy.im 57 Years old so I feel Maino.Lots of blacks and Spanish was not feeling it.But it is what it is.Now NY is going thru it....Love NY before the west coast and Chicago gang style..Never had any bad incounters with any of them..Bloods crips or kings.Thank god...Peace Bronx Love 183

Maino ain’t lying about anything of NYC before that blood gang invasion in ‘95. NYC was always niggas who stood up for themselves (for those who had nuts). DMX, L.O.X. even OG niggas like Shan, Kool G. Rap, KRS told and showed how NYC rocked w/o flag waving before the westcoast blew up.

Knowledge of self is a remix of nation of Islam doctrine which is a remix of Muslim doctrine which is a remix of the Torah....why not just skip all the remixes and embrace the original?? The Quran states that the Torah and Prophets are the word of God...Quran 3:3. The word of The Most High can't be remixed...that's like saying He is imperfect and needs human correction. Muhammad was an illiterate man who married a nine yr old baby. Elijah Muhammad was a false prophet and a crook...Fard was also a crook...and they were killing their own people....fact over fiction. Deuteronomy 28 is knowledge of self...and can do more to help our people get on course. Most God bodies continued to move as heathens...look at Ghostface...all them street songs...all that coke snorting and nothing uplifting.... Listen to Deck's verse on Cream....that's wisdom...but he never talked that God body garbage. Talking about the white man was created in a science experiment...man get outta here man. I'm a 80s baby I seen it.....God bodies wasn't cleaning up the community, a lot of them ended up doing drugs themselves crack and weeded out...laced blunts... drunkard etc. Look at Jay Electronica....white man the devil according to God Body doctrine but he left Erykah Badu for a wealthy European woman....but talk fly on records,... hypocrisy....Maino too peddles ignorance at 50 yrs old. Where's the growth??? Where's the remorse....where's the knowledge??? He still glorifying yesteryear and embracing negativity today...hanging with old adolescent jim Jones...it's hypocrisy

"Dropping their flags". I recall being downtown Brooklyn on Fulton St in the late 90's or (early 2000's) and seeing a crew of about 10 dudes all with a particular colored rag in all their back pockets (I won't state the color). I was probably 10 feet behind them while they were crossing Livingston and Fulton (headed in the direction of Dr. Jay's). The next block ahead I could see a group of opposing members as they had their colored clothing and flags around their heads. There were probably 12 of them. I immediately thought "Aww man it's about to go down". Nothing went down. The dudes I was behind all tucked their rags into their pockets. In hindsight in my older age I'm glad no brawl (or worse) ensued at that moment between those young brothers.

I feel that. When I grew up being in a gang was wack. People joined for protection and I never needed any protection. We knuckle up and handle it like men. I fought everyday. Going to the store I had to fight and when I got home I had to fight to keep my shit I just got at the store, so we fought, never scared and didn't need any help. In fact ninjaz was at the fight to make sure nobody jumped in or got jumped. If you had to gang up on someone that meant you was weak, scared, and couldn't fight. Now if you in a gang it's gangsta.... N£×¢€ please.

I remember when i was a kid in the mid 70’s how bad the gangs were out here- Savage Skulls, The Avenues, Blacks Spades, Savage Nomads, The 7 Crowns etc.,it was nuts. By the time the 80’s rolled around all of these gangs were gone and now it drug dealing get money crews- dudes warring over drug real estate and of course the boosting crews like the Low Lifes terrorizing the buisness districts. Once the mid 90’s arrived thats when the Bloods And Crips invaded and shit aint been the same since.

@notoriouslyinfamous2937
@notoriouslyinfamous2937 2 жыл бұрын
Decepts was NOT a dominant gang in any era. If they were so dominant they would have made an impact on Rikers but notice all these KZfaq pages with Rikers stories no one even mentions Decepts on the Island not even when discussing C74. Decepts were just a bunch of high school kids who would rob & beat up kids in other high schools or on the train. They preyed on weak and/or isolated kids in large numbers, bully shit. You’ll never hear any real nigga or real crew ever say they had beef with Decepts except Lo Life’s and they themselves were high school kids. Once a Decept graduated or dropped out of high school they may have still been in the streets and repped Decept but all that runnin around 30 deep on the train beaten people up ceased. The real Gangs in NYC during the 80’s and 90’s were drug crews, stick up kids or blocks who had real niggas holding their street, building or projects down which we called posses back then.

Gang banging has been a part of NYC since forever. Im a 70’s baby from Bk and The Jolly Stompers, Tomahawks, Spades just to name a few was wearing jackets repping their gangs and marking their territory back then. It’s just that it use to be we didn’t follow anyone else’s lead as far as gangs were concerned. So when OG Mack came thru along with Dead Eye pushing an off shoot of the bloods and Ny and Nj thought it was cool, is when it all went south for the East Coast as far whatever unity we had left and neighbours started warring even more than ever over a color of a rag.
