It’s precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don’t have to act on every forecast. I will also suggest investors to get yourselves a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.

Why are people buying ETFs instead of BTC?

Existing retirement accounts. older investors would take a serious early withdrawal tax to get out of a retirement account into for example Coinbase to buy BTc. Also, Gen X here, I don’t want to deal with custody issues. Unfortunately my state doesn’t even offer “BTC - USD”, so I buy MSTR.

@@sr4169 point taken. I guess I'm just worried that continued centralization defeats the purpose, and leads to more speculative pricing. Custody is another issue that make me second guess BTC. Most people don't want the cognitive overhead, and will never do all the research to understand it. My uncle in his 70s thinks that 'the halving' was a stock split, for instance.

He seemed a little thrown off with that Meta question. He also seems optimistic to quickly say next year. Speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if Meta has been having meetings or possibly even started purchasing the Etf.

The future of economic power will be "compute", not crypto ( at least not in its present form). Bitcoin and blockchain are old, crippled technologies that look like child's play compared to what's happening in the AI space. The original idea behind Bitcoin, at least as espoused in the white paper by some mysterious guy (we don't know the nature of that person or entity), was as an alternative transaction processing vehicle. Certainly it's nothing like that currently, it's simply a way for lots of people to think that they can get rich quick. The essentials behind bitcoin are very weak and eventually the platform will collapse.
