Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

Your axle mount is a weldment, flat plates fitted and welded together. I am surprised that after welding, the mounting surface was not milled flat. I also would not have been surprised if a few dowl pins had been used to help align and support the axle. It is very clear that they have a manufacturing issue that will need to be resolved before they can send you a new weldment.

@@bladewiper It’s just a “why” from me It’s also confusing why the previous one off Andy’s wife’s family’s DB is fine. I’m also stunned that those bolts don’t have washers ie a flat and a compression/ spring washer depending on terminology from different countries? It’s stunning considering the value of the item,the modern age and the importance of those bolt’s during on road. I guess it’s a factory only information “ situation 🤷‍♂️ Wouldn’t be impressed tbh

Trippy, I am sooo happy for you and your family!! You now have 2 future farmers to work side by side with their dad. Marty can supervise from his pickup when they get big enough to help out. GM did you a solid by giving you that pickup for a week. I bet you will buy it or lease it. You deserve it. Be well and good luck with harvest. 🌽🌽🌽

I also got shipped items that had been returned as defective in the past. Since then, I made it a habit to write "BROKEN" on any defective item I return. I hope that has an effect on the returns processing, but even if not, it will make the life of the next person who gets shipped the part easier.

That's definitely a possibility here. The John Deere warranty guy actually came and met with us. He said that the issue is that this specific part has no planing spec at the factory, meaning every one could have a minor amount of variation when cast. Depending on when they're made, the could all have the imperfection that we were concerned with!
@RealJohnWayne
@RealJohnWayne 8 ай бұрын
Hey there Andy, I hope this finds you well? 🙏 The piece on your John Deere Planter is not "cast" it is a welded steel part. The jig that it was welded in is obviously not square, and what happens is that multiple pieces are produced at a time, and they're all misaligned. The jig in question will need to be addressed, and then a new run of that piece will be right. Congratulations on the new baby! Those new 2024 HD trucks from GM are sweet! I hope you have a good one. "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲

Fully understand what you are describing and is a major concern. What I saw in the 12 bolt weak point is a bit of a dumbass brain fart in the design. Why are grade #5 course thread bolts being used on one of the most crucial structural points? Those bolts should be grade #8 fine thread to say the least.
