THANK YOU!!!! Doing the M1L has been SO frustrating getting my needle into the back of the stitch. You are a blessing! It's little tips like that, that only years of experience produce. THANK YOU!!!!!

I use two phrases to help remember the two stitches - I'll be right back (for M1R) and I left the front door open (for M1L)

I'm so glad I found this one..it's made very much easier to remember by the "right back" phrase, and her explanation is a nice, slow speed, so no rushing to try to mentally process when she's already moved on. Thank you very much for this one! I am now subscribed. :)

When the bar between stitches is picked up, a M1R slants to the RIGHT in front of the needle, and a M1L slants to the LEFT in front of the needle. The phrase "I'll be right back" is also helpful. Good job.

Do you have a tutorial for M1L (purl) and M1R (purl) - that is making M1L and M1R purl increases. I recently had to learn to do this, and I didn't find a lot of information about those stitches.

First, love your videos so much. Second, I’m confused. And obviously wrong, lol. M1 R : isn’t the stitch leaning to the right? I had audio off at first and thought I was watching M1R ON the right side. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharona, The "left" and "right" describe the position of the thread at the bottom of the added stitch, not the slant of the stitch itself. Happy knitting :-)

Do they become a pearl or knit when we go back to make a new row thats what i dont understand 😟 pr can i make them in to what ever we want ?
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 5 жыл бұрын
Euri, it depends on the pattern. This technique helps you add a new stitch, and the pattern should tell you how to work this stitch further on. Happy knitting :-)
@vapinggaming

My pattern says "M1L, M1R". There is no knit stich in between. This makes it impossible to get enough "bar" to make the M1R after making the M1L. I have tried loosening my purl stitches in the row below, but it is still very tight. Is there another trick to make this easier or even possible? I have to do these every knit row!
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 4 жыл бұрын
In this situation, you can use a double increase. Here's a tutorial that explains how to do it - www.10rowsaday.com/double-increase Another option is to knit two stitches in a row through front and back (kfb) This way, you will make 4 stitches out of 2 - exactly what you need. Happy knitting :-)

to create this increased edge, do you increase when you are on the wrong side as well?
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the instructions in the pattern you follow when you work on a project. In most cases, the increases are done on the right side of the work unless your patterns tells you otherwise. Happy knitting :-)

Would u do the same if you’re Russian knitting?
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 6 ай бұрын
Yes, because these increases are formed from strands between the stitches, and not from the stitches themselves, they work the same in classic and in Eastern (Russian) knitting.
