Oh, wow. These are beautiful. Nice work. The sanded down version is incredible. Both are! I can't decide which I like more. I'm going to have to try and do this to some steel rod. I love the look it has.

Excellent!! It occurs to me that a similar technique could be used for screwdrivers to fit screws on bench planes. Also, you need a mini lathe. A 7 x 14 would be great for making handles like these.
