In this episode, I take apart a good portion of the car for no reason and fight off a bumblebee. The Touring misbehaves and rewards me with a check engine light. We also upgrade the front brakes with 330i brakes, big calipers and rotors and install M Sport control arms.

@@daedalus_20v think you may have missed my point - if you buy cheaper parts, you end up buying them more often - meaning you end up doing the same job over and over again for the sake of a few quid on cheaper parts.

It makes you feel so silly when you do a bunch of disassembly and then it turns out it wasn't necessary because it was something simple! :D This past weekend, I put the rear fold down seats back into my car and then realized I had the seat belts wrapped the wrong way and now the buckles were on the BACK of the seat!!! So, this coming weekend, it's redo the back seats!

Humm. I wouldn't say it makes you feel silly at all. If you don't know mecanics, like I do, looking for the easiest way to fix is the only way to fix. So even if I would have probably been able to spot the steering wheel issue immediatly, that's only because that would have been the only thing I could have ever done. Glad Sreten did'nt cut that part. It proveshe knows how complicated it usually is.

This give me another reason why i love German cars so much. I'm currently driving a 2008 VW Jetta(MK5) with the 2.5L 5 cylinder engine with 240 000 Km on the clock and i still love it. I can't see myself selling it. But living in Canada with the winter and the salt, that day might come where i have to say bye-bye. But let me tell you that there are very few cars that will give me the driving pleasure that i get from driving this old jetta. And i'm talking about brand new cars like Toyota and Honda. They can't match it! VW for the win!!

I've used this MAF cleaner from Liqui-Moly almost a decade ago on then my 1998 Ford Mondeo with 1.8 petrol engine and it made a fantastic difference. I've been plagued by slow reaction to accelerator pedal and P0171 DTC code. Did not know much about MAF sensors then but gave it a try and it worked! To be honest, the same result could be achieved by a q-tip and some alcohol, but at the time I was too scared to break the MAF sensor.

Your videos are so helpful... It's much easier to learn from someone else's mistakes. Thank you for not editing them out. I owned several E46 cars but my all time favorite was a 2002 325i with sport package. It had 172000 miles and it wasn't passing inspection, so I bought it for $800 and after only $1200 worth of OEM parts, it was driving like it was on rails and it had better pickup than my 330i with only 82000 miles. I regret trading that car for a Z3 with sport package. The Z3 is in excellent shape and has a 3.0 engine and gave no problems in over 3 years of owning it, but I am 6' tall and there's not much room in it.

Another difference with the M-Sport control arms on this chassis is the mildly increased caster. Factory difference in castor is slight, but it was there. You can use regular arms with stiffer dampers and springs, but usually it's the wider tyres and bigger alloy diameters that push more stress through the suspension than 205/55 R16s. Even on regular suspension, the extra stiffening and (reportedly) tougher ball joints are worth it.
