Hey Amy, thanks a lot for this nice trip through rhythms and to broaden them on the surface of handpan. Doing the same at djembe feels definitely different. Got me as a new fan of your kind of teaching...many blessings to you

Thank you VERY much for taking this time. I am a complete noob with a RAV. I will practice this daily until I get it down. The tac sounds so much nicer on the handpan than the RAV - in my opinion.
@AmyNaylorMusic
@AmyNaylorMusic 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the RAV has a much more muted tak sound, very different from the handpan, but I actually really love it in the context of the RAV. I have some videos on the rav coming soon so hopefully these will be useful to you 🥰

omg sensei has a kettle, I wonder if it is metallic, maybe you can groove in it, also for me the swing is more even, the thing sensei did was a shuffle, or trippleting

The thing I realy like about these lessons is that in some way, they all seem to keep in tempo/beat even when she is talking. If I play along it somehow perfectly matches when she starts playing again.. is it just my bad timing skills or her good timing skills

I got two left hands( not literally bit like saying two left feet as in being an uncoordinated dancer) I try to do the simple thing you do but wires get crossed and I freeze like an overload 😕 I do a bit better on my own but I don't have the nice rhythm like you or others have even if it's basic 😫

Thank you so much for this video!! I have a question though.. do you also add melody and incorporate it into the rhythm or would you personally only play it as you did in the video/ would it be too much? just in case you also improvise could you maybe share that too? :))))
@AmyNaylorMusic
@AmyNaylorMusic 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Damia, yes absolutely! The next step on from this would definitely be to add melody. I have a couple other videos that might help answer this question: "4 approaches to composition", "how to jam" and if you check out my Handpan Build a Beat series I offer some examples at the end of those videos of ways to introduce melodies to the grooves. This is a question that comes up a lot, and I want to explore it deeper in a future video 😊
