Have you had any issues with the in-line fuses being so far away from the battery? Everything I've researched says they should be as close to the battery as possible.

I know this doesn't really go with the video but I noticed the prop nut on the trolling motor I have been thinking of getting one like that. have you noticed any difference in performance running that style prop nut?

I have noticed some advantages, here is why I will have one on every trolling motor moving forward in my opinion. 1) It does seem to reduce the noise of the prop slightly 2) At higher speeds, when the prop is spinning fast it feels less shaky and easier to maneuver (also why its quieter, less vibration) 3) Probably the best part is how easy it is to take on and off. It makes taking the prop off to check for line or check your seals much easier than having the traditional bolt inside the prop. The one I have is the TH Marine Eliminator, they run about $60 on their website. Again, just depends if the ease of use is worth the cost to the user

However, if you are spending thousand(s) of dollars on electronics, wouldn't you want them to be performing how they should?

@@MidwestOutdoorsTV I can get the same performance that they should have by spending 200 to 300 less by just buying 10 gauge wire and some good connectors and inline fuses and even a power disconnect switch

@@machew2009 you sure can, but when people try to do it themselves off the shelf to save money they end up buying cheap 10 or 8 gauge wire (speaker wire), not great connectors, branching at the console requires more connections and splitting which can lead to weaker voltage. It is most certainly doable if you know what to buy and how to install it properly. But to have everything you need, assembled and very user friendly is why you would go with this product.

I agree the price does seem high however I do see the benefits.

@@machew2009 10awg wire would still be overkill;) 16awg silicone wire costs like $25 on amazon for 25feet red/black and it is good for 35amps. 4 garmin 12inch ultra units will pull 13.2 amps max together so that 16awg is more then double the amps. Wire used in that harness is pointless anyway because you still use original unit power cable and bottlenecking the power into that wire. xD In my opinion its a waste of at least $350 because you could make that cable or even better for less then $100 which would include kill switch or switches for separate units , power switches and even inline voltage and amp monitor.
