Great job Laney. I first saw you on EZ. Watched every video I could find a number of times. They are all great. You have a rare way of making videos interesting on KZfaq. But what makes it great is your demeanor. A smile always and very humble attitude. Indeed rare. Sadly, 2 weeks ago, I had to make a trip to Tampa, Fl to attend a funeral of a close relative. On the way down I-75, I decided to make a stop in Ocala to see you and the EZ factory. Much to my surprise, you are no longer there. I enjoyed the "tour" they gave me and I was made to feel welcomed by all. Sadly of course, the main reason for visiting was to meet you. I will let it go at this. EZ lost a "diamond in the rough". Indeed they did. I have no idea why (I was given some reasons) that you left. But I can tell the world, they could never replace you. I am certain you brought many sales to them with your gifts; that otherwise would not have come to fruition.. Thank you so much. I will watch any and every video you make. Keep it up dear friend. May Jesus richly bless you and yours always. patdee

So, Laney, I'm not the only one that missed you and thought you'd gone over to the dark side permanently. Corporate May pay some bills, but a community support base is key to long term success. I'm glad to see this new vid, great jig. Thanks for the hope.

+Laney Shaughnessy- I can understand that. I am almost done with my second crosscut sled, based on your design. This second one is smaller than my first and I'm adding T-Track to this one for stop blocks. The first was 48" long X 24" wide and had the homemade T-Track like yours along with your stop block design. Thanks for the inspiration.

Laney, Made your spline jig - thanks for the plans and vid - easy build and it came out perfect - I used my T-slot router bit instead of the T-track - I also used 3/4 ply - the stop block was a great idea - thanks again for the plan & vid.

Laney, so I assume this is then for a fixed table blade height, else you might cut the T-slot.

Why only 1080p? It can hurt people with internet problems. I've also found that KZfaq has just been really laggy for about the past week. That said...Glad to see a video from you. Don't see them all that often.

Every KZfaq Video has the option to "downgrade" the quality... Click on the gear, click quality and pick something lower if you need a lower bit rate - i see everything from 144p to 1080p as options...
@007KrausBean
@007KrausBean 8 жыл бұрын

Nicely done, Laney. Question: Why did you leave the T track to overhang the ends? Seems to me it might get caught up on something. Great vid.
@LaneyShaughnessy
@LaneyShaughnessy 8 жыл бұрын
YOu can definitely trim it to size. I had this stick of t track laying around so i didnt bother to trim it, not to worried about it getting caught and it gives me an extra half inch on each side for my stop block...

Hey laney , Larry here again why do some guys use countersinks with the drill bits then some just use a drill bit then come back with counter shank
@LaneyShaughnessy
@LaneyShaughnessy 8 жыл бұрын
+Larry Kelley it really depends on what they have on hand...I have both a bit with counter sink and a separate bit and counter sink...it just depends on the task and what I have available to me at the time .

Hi Laney just a quick question For the runners what do you think to use some done with a plastic cutting board it's cheap and no problem with humidity? Regards Matteo
@LaneyShaughnessy
@LaneyShaughnessy 8 жыл бұрын
It would be an excellent choice. You wont have to worry about expansion or contraction with using a plastic runner.

Sorry Laney Just another question which is the best blade to use in order to have a square slot cut? Should be one with the tip of the blade square like a blade for aluminum for example or a combination blade? cheersMatteo
