MAKE YOUR OWN TRIPP NYC-INSPIRED BONDAGE PANTS! 💜🖤 (version 2) | DIY TUTORIAL | Hannah Valentine

☆ in this video, I show you guys how to make another version of the Tripp NYC bondage pants! This pair is complete with chains and bondage straps, but the best part is that they zipper off into shorts! I made these as a custom piece for a customer, but if you're interested in having a piece done by me, please dm me on instagram (@shopghostsoda)! if you make your own version and post about it on social media, please tag me!
supplies I used for this project:
- 1 base pair of pants to work on (wide leg is best, I just used some thrifted dickies, thrifting them is the best option price wise)
- 1 pair of pants to use for the bondage detailing (I used purple pants I dyed myself)
- 12 silver 1.25" d-rings
- 2 large silver lobster clasps
- big bag of silver grommets (I forgot the size I used sorry)
- 4 pieces of 8" silver chain
- rotary cutter and cutting mat (honestly a pair of scissors works fine if u don't have these things)
- sewing machine
- needle and thread for hand sewing portions
- pliers (to get the chains on)
- sewing pins
- 2 22" zippers (make sure they're separating)

You have good hands for this!! Pd: 4:09 I recommend cutting the legs from the 'inside" so when u open that piece, it's bigger Edit: nvm it looks like u know a lot so probably it was the right thing

I'm in love with both your trip pants you've made, & incredibly inspired to try my own pair! I do have a question though-- Is it possible to make Tripp pants out of leather or vinyl - glossy pants w/ the straps, detachments & utilitarian emphasis? If so, could you possibly do a tutorial? Or even a leather/vinyl pants tutorial overall?

Definitely. You can incorporate more features into a custom pair than what's available, and truly make them your own. I finished a pair of black and white split colored pants with blue details on the black (right) side, and green details on the white (left) side. Different details are on each side, so they're very asymmetrical. I get lots of compliments on them, and people asking me where they can buy them. I took my time making them---almost 2 months. They weren't easy to make, but the end result was so worth it. (Jan Griffiths).

Make sure they look like ghast pants stitching wise (it's more simple and clean than ufo's stitching) also I want the pants to have back pockets just use the pockets from black cargos and ufo style size thank you

Can you put a zipper opening at the side like your pink pants AND a 2 in 1 zipper going into shorts at the same time? I’m trying to make these kind of pants for Halloween 🎃. And can you also make a tutorial it would be much appreciated for many people.

Wow your Talent is Sooo Amazing!!! You are gonna go far in the clothing line... I have two questions 4U as well... Do you personally or have any Idea of a way to identify or how to tell what year a particular Tripp Nyc Clothing item was made The year to identify it a peace is an older or what some call Vtg Tripp Clothing? And second question can you if i send a pair of Black Dickies jeans like the pair in this video. If you can or could make me the same pants. And is so whats you price ranged. Thx ^__^

One of the best ways to determine the era in which the pants were made is to look at the tags. Older pants were made in the USA, so they will have a tag that says that. Tripp tags have changed over the years, and now they are made in China, and that will be stated on the pants as well. The newer pants are also made of thinner fabric as well. The pair of Tripp pants I found at my local Goodwill several years ago are an older style, and were made in the USA. I paid only 10 dollars for them. They were missing the straps, but I ordered new ones off the Tripp NYC website. (Jan Griffiths).

Can you make a black pair of UFO's I wear a large (36 waist) height 5'5 use polyester fabric buy it from a fabric store take a pair black cargo's any old ones will do and remove the belt loops and cargo pockets also buy some elastic bands that would fit around an ankle slap on the belt loops on the pants and cargo pockets onto the UFO's and put the elastic on the bottom also make use grey stitching and add grey stitching contrast on and around the pockets (I don't have instagram but you can hit me back with your email)
