In this video I go over the benefits of skating a symmetrical board and how it can make your whole setup last way longer than normal.

I love symmetrical boards as well. Still I think there are not enough to choose from. Would like to see some more 8.5”-8.8” decks with a 14.375”-14.5” wheelbase.

They are so damn convenient! Yeah dude, they demand is there, board companies just have to start making more of them and more options available

I love symmetrical boards. I hate having to constantly look at what way my graphic is facing or paint a dumb dot on the grip. No awkward shove in a line

I haven’t tried symmetrical boards in the past because I keep both of my trucks at a different tightness (back is usually a little tighter than the front). It’s something that is noticeable. I have two setups. My 8.25” street/tech board and then my 8.75” curb board. I may have changed my mind about it yesterday though. I was doing slappies on this little box thing. Decided to start trying Switch FS Slappies. I did it how I normally would try, which is riding the board backwards. After a few tries, I turned it around, with the nose going forward and after a few tries I started getting into them. A few more tries and I got it. I’m pretty sure putting the looser truck forward for that really helped. So, I’m not positive that I’ll be trying a symmetrical at this point, but I am intrigued.

Oh true, I’ve heard of people riding their trucks like that! So it worked better when you were riding switch and using your nose as the tail? 🤔 Yeah that definitely makes sense dude, having the looser truck for slappy’s will help get into it easier and pinch better 👌🏽

This is why i havent switched as well. My back truck has to be tight and front loose, because I mainly control my board with my front foot. When I ride fakie, it has to feel a certain way or else I will mess up or not feel comfortable. I also like the size difference between a nose and a tail. For some it makes no difference, and others a massive difference. I like the idea of it though!

That’s fair dude! At the end of the day it comes down to what you are most comfortable with and what benefits your type of skating 👌🏽

you could always just assign a tail and a nose, and then when one side gets too worn down or busted up, you can flip it over, essentially doubling the life, assuming you don't do much switch/nollie@@Scalamander

I kinda feel like Leon should get a Heroin guest model. I know they're usually reserved for friends of Heroin. But, I wonder how many people have purchased a Heroin egg board because of Leon's videos. I know I did. Fos, if you're watching, hook it up! Leon Paxton guest model egg. I would buy it.

Been getting alot out of watching your vids the last year and thankyou for learning the boardys to febs:) I'm 42 so it's often long stints between learning a new trick I bought 2 of those goveners 1 to learn the feeble and a back up was that stoked. Random question are you kiwi bro? Your skating reminds me of a younger chey ataria on abc days when he was on dvs with the trickery I'm seeing you pull. Good work on the vids hey very appreciative subscriber here

Girl, Chocolate, Real, Habitat, Alien Workshop, Welcome, Deathwish, Toy Machine, Santa Cruz all offer symmetrical shapes. Girl/Chocolate have the most selection and I hear creature is coming out with symmetrical shapes too.

@@user-cm4oq6th1z Still not enough, we need more options. There's really only 4 models or so you can actually find in stores in Oz, and not in a a lot of shapes and widths unfortunately.

How do trucks effect how symmetrical boards skate? I definitely notice the difference between my front and back trucks
@LeonPaxton
@LeonPaxton 6 ай бұрын
It might be hard once your trucks have already been worn in a certain way and then you try and skate a symmetrical board. It might be better off setting up new trucks with a new symmetrical board so the trucks can wear in evenly from day one 👌🏽
