Hi friends, happy Thursday!
Welcome to the Dark History podcast. Today, we are going to talk about how a 1969 police raid on the Stonewall Inn sparked violent riots that would become the global revolution for LGBTQ+ liberation.
I appreciate you for coming by, and tune in next week for more dark history.
You can find Dark History podcast on Apple, Spotify, wherever you listen to your podcasts, and every Thursday here on my KZfaq for the visual side of things.

I don't know if Bailey's gonna mention this, but Dark History was nominated for several Streamy's this year!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Edit: Dark History was nominated for Show of the Year. It was also nominated separately for Show Awards in the Podcast category. And Bailey herself was nominated in the Beauty category for Individual Subjects. So that's three nominations for Bailey! The Streamy's are kinda like the Oscars of streaming content - aka, there's no voting. They'll announce the winners during their show (streamed on their channel) sometime in December.

I've seen a couple other people say this, but I'm gonna say it too: Bailey, thank you for covering Pride outside of Pride Month. You have no idea how much it means to me and I'm sure many others in the community that you're covering this outside of Pride Month. LGBT History is American History; it shouldn't be relegated to one month a year where people get brownie points for being supportive of us and make millions selling Pride themed merchandise. Same goes for Black History. It is all American History and should be treated with just as much respect and dedication as the founding of our country, the Civil War, and the two World Wars.

I cannot express how much I appreciate Bailey going over this topic. With such violent & hateful beliefs/actions toward the LGBTQ+ community throughout the years, a lot of people refuse to acknowledge that it’s still happening. It’s not just a third world country issue, it’s everywhere in every continent, in every country, in every nook & cranny of the world it can fit. This is why we are proud. This is why we triumph over ignorance, hatred, & narrow-mindedness. This is our story. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Sincerely, a biromantic demisexual
