HELLO Friends !
Hope your Monday is off to a good start. I wanted to talk today about Lavena Johnson and how her family still fights for her. This case is so sad and I just want to give the family a big big hug.
There is A LOT MORE to this case that I left out, I just tried my best to not make it too long, but please read more about the case within the links provided. Look all evidence points to this is a cover up so, what gives?
Thats really all I can say about that. Let me know your thoughts down below and I will be seeing you next Monday. Stay safe
OH PS : Sorry I didn’t show product images on screen, honestly, not feeling well and just need to go to bed.

First off, I want to extend my wholehearted thanks to you for serving. I have so much respect for you. You chose to stand up and defend of those of us that can't defend ourselves. That's the highest calling that I can imagine. That being said, it seems, to me, at least, that there's an underlying belief in the military that, when these assaults occur, the men that commit them are simply 'showing' their victims how they would be treated by an actual enemy. It's as if they see it as extra training that some 'soldiers' have taken it upon themselves to selflessly volunteer to instruct the women in. You know, since they can't make it an official part of bootcamp (or any other form of training) because the general public just couldn't/wouldn't understand the need for it. It's disgusting. I am so impressed by your refusal to be cowed by the experience and the resilience you've shown by not allowing it to break you down. There is simply no way that I could thank you enough for showing me a strength of character that I can aspire to possess. You are my personal hero. You are amazing.

As a former us army female veteran I’d say whoever assaulted her sexually was probably of high ranking or of a very important status to go so far and irresponsibly try to cover up the horrendous things he or they had probably done to her .. it wouldn’t be the first time that shit like that has happened in the armed forces ...we always here stories about sexual assault and cover ups happening ..thankfully I never saw it up close and personally... what I did see were drunk solider getting way too friendly with females thinking if they were drinking with them it was because she wanted it..😡 or thinking that because they were higher ranking they could get away with certain orders were they could put u in an uncomfortable situation. .. ... sorry for the rant 🤨

Thank you for your service ..Don't apologize. You just confirmed what this story is about basically. Im sure just cause you didnt hear about it where you were, doesn't mean it wasn't happening ya know. They (the female's) were probably told to keep their mouth shut. Smh its sad, yous put your life on the line, and are away from your families and work your ass's off just like the men do. Its not right in this day and age we're still not considered equal to them. And you saying it was probably someone of a higher ranking makes perfect sense.

I completely agree as a former Air Force veteran it gets swept under the rug. Especially if it's a high ranking soldier. I was ashamed for over 10 years for what happened to me when I was serving in the military overseas. I was raped and not only in the hospital for a week I had to have 2 surgeries and was told to keep my mouth shut or else. I was young and scared. I did have a battle buddy and she's the one who saved me unfortunately she was threatened to and she had alot more to lose then I did so we kept our mouths shut. And it was told I had kidney stones for the cover up. Almost 12 years later with major PTSD, I try and advocate against it. All I have to say is it's all bullsh*t when the military states they have zero tolerance for sexual harrassment.

Your dad was completely right. Once you give yourself to the military as a man, there's a kind loss of their humanity that's unable to be saved. They'll break you and never think twice. Edit: there are exceptions to every rule, but for a woman's sanity, I understand why this lady's father told her what he did. The military changes a person, and sometimes not for the better. As always, I do not mean all, but there are too many examples to not listen to her father's advice.

Please please please make a video about Vanessa Guillen!! She was killed inside Fort Hood military base in Tx. She was sexually assaulted and all of a sudden disappeared after wanting to call out the person, she was found almost two months after dismembered and burned mixed in cement dug in dirt and the man supposedly “killed himself” and justice has not been served!!!

As a Army vet myself, I have to say-- Nothing could be more real or true. I was assaulted, and told that while I was overseas my LTC "owned my body" and could do as he pleased. When I got back to the states, all of my reports were nowhere to be found. There was literally no proof that I had turned anyone in. I will always send thoughts to this sweet girls family.

Sexual assault in the military is insanely common. I honestly can't count how many times I dealt with harassment or heard from others being harassed and even raped. In my case, I believe I was drugged. I was so young and confused as to why I would have done what I did but I had only had one drink so...yes it happens and it seems to never end. That was only one instance. Other attempts were made. I still take meds 22 years later. I only recently put it together that I my have been drugged. At least now I don't blame myself like I used to even though no ALWAYS means no, I still managed to blame myself somehow. My heart breaks so much for her and her family.

This triggered me!! YES!!!! I’ve heard that from a couple of my managers at one point. They said I am so “quiet” and self-sufficient. That I don’t “ask for much” so they assume I’m always “fine”. My response was that I come to do a job, if I need help I will ask for it. And by no means am I “quiet”... it’s a defense mechanism to stay sane and protect myself as a black woman and the typical stereotypes we receive from our counter parts. Especially in a corporate setting. NOW, if I were anymore outspoken than I feel I already am at work...they would be over me. It’s VERY interesting to watch... Wound stat! I’m screaming! The top of my ear was chopped off during a hair show and it would not stop bleeding. The medic used a form of wound seal to stop the bleeding. I literally had to run onstage shortly after. THAT PART OF THIS STORY DISTURBS ME AS WELL! This case makes me physically ill 🤢. The people involved in her death will only ruin themselves in the long run. I can’t stand it. They will pay. REST well, Lavena. ❤️

The pain will make them let go of you and they will be disoriented enough for you to get away. Then there's the classic kick in the balls strategy.

Even as someone who’s been in over 13 years, the military has to be called out for this. They need to be called out for Fort Hood, Capt Crozier, for Vanessa Guillen, LaVena Johnson, for any service member who had been harassed or assaulted. It’s not a discredit against service members to call out the branches for what they have done wrong or put their members though unjustly.

When I was 17 I wanted to join the military and went and saw a recruiter and after that I told my dad that I already talked to someone and that I wanted to join. My dad was in the miltary and he said absolutely not and not because of war or anything like that. He said that if I were a boy he would support me in joining but because I'm a woman it would be to dangerous because of our own soldiers. He told me a few stories of women he was deployed with and stories other men had told him.... he told me men in the military are monsters.... nothing about this poor womans story surprises me...

I've served in the Marine Corps and the army. When my baby cousin told me she wanted to join and wasn't gonna change her mind I told her straight up to go Marine Corps because it's a smaller, tighter knit organization. I knew that rapists exist everywhere, but I felt safer in the MC where they instill brotherhood and a sense of protection even towards us females. In the army my anxiety was through the roof, I never felt unsafe around specific people but I knew in general there weren't many people I could trust or reach out to should anything happen to me. I told her this and she says it really made her understand things much more. It's hard convos to have, but they must be had. I'd be doing her a disservice by not talking about the dangers and possibilities for us women.

There were numerous suspicious deaths at Fort Hood over the past two years. So many! But they concluded that no higher ranking officers were involved in Vanessa's death. It seemed fishy, though. I wasn't satisfied with the outcome at all. It took private citizens to find her body after months of half assed efforts and indifferent brush-offs. I'm still upset about this, it seems like they will never be held accountable.

As a female vet…thank you for covering stories like this. There are so many assaults that go unreported because higher ups are protected and most of the time is way more backlash for the reportee. Many times if you report you are then known as the problem anywhere else you go.

The description of her last day, that she closed up the comms centre and went to PT... the first thing I thought was "Did she get any grief from other soldiers that day?" Or did they suddenly decide to listen to her that day? Her C.O. seems suspish to me, if not involved directly then definitely knows something/covering someone. What an absolutely awful way to go, and to have the truth suppressed like that, it boggles the mind! Rest in peace, sweet LaVena.

Military is VERY corrupt. Dad was in the military and they listed that he “shot himself” with a gun on the right side when he’s left handed, making him blind but gave him a honorable discharge. Then promoted the guy who shot him 😡. They didn’t even service connect him.

I remember this case from so long ago but haven't heard anything about it recently. The fact that it seems like the attempt to cover up was so extensive that it points to someone pretty high up. Not just some other Private. It's such a shame. You'd think with everything that came to light with the Vanessa Guillen case that this would have been opened back up. Such a tragedy that such a young life was taken and her family has no answers.
