Had some scrap blue mdf (valchromat) and the need for a cabinet at my workplace. So I drummed out this blue mitered box with some drawers and a cubby/tote to carry pens and postit to workshops. Also made a small parts bin and a letter-opener from the leftover corian.
About the build: I decided to keep the holes in the top piece of Corian for now, still thinking about what to do with them (all suggestion are welcomed)
The oil I used was not good, i hade to sand everything away (it stained the MDF with some large white stains) and i ran out of the other oil I used. Therefore no finish on the internal sides of the drawers and such (will fix later :D)
Hope you like the video, share and subscribe if you do :D
Have a happy and safe day going forward :D

Great build as always especially the handle. What is used for? It seems very specific. Regarding the holes in the corian. You can get special glue and filler for corian but I am sure it's quite pricey. I would make small plugs out of the valchromat and glue them into the holes.

The handle/tote is now holding my workshop gear, post-it,markers and also some extra office things (scissors, glue gun etc) Wanted something to hold everything in when I went around to different meetings (instead of filling my arms up with stuff)

And thank you very much btw :D I will look into the corian glue, wondered about plugging it myself with mdf, but i could not make up my mind about it :D

Looks great! But....there’s no explanation as to what it’s for? What’s the reason for the tote in the lower drawer? What’s the reason for white strip in the upper drawer? What is the blue runner for on top left of the cabinet? Soo many questions.

Hi there, and thanks. I try to explain some of the usages in the description, but I will make sure to include it in the video itself in the future :D () The white strip is leftover Corian that i sanded into a letter opener :D The blue runner is there to hold my pens and markers that I am always leaving on my desk (just my favourites ones) The tote is to keep and carry workshop supply to meetings. Thank you again for watching it

The circular cutout for opening the drawers is exactly the kind of design cue that makes your work great. Totally love it. The top of the unit looks like it was designed for a specific use- will you fill us in on the intended use? I’m curious!

Hi there and thank you, The top tray was needed because the Corian was not large enough :D , and now I use it to hold my pens and markers (the open end makes it easy to slide them out when needed)

Hi Sir, really love your channel. All of your video are very informative and interesting. Just one question here, I'm thinking of creating a small indoor cabinet from mdf. However, I read that MDF is quite dangerous towards human (due to the formaldehyde particle) So is it safe for us to use mdf? Or is there any finishing procedure we need to do after we're done with the cabinet? what can I think of at the moment is to coat it with epoxy resin, is it alright? I also wanted to skin the mdf with carbon/glass fiber for aesthetic purpose and also make it waterproof really appreciate your feedback and looking forward to see more videos from you. thanks

hi there and sry for late answer. The mdf i am using, especially the colored ones does not contain Formaldehyde. I think the best thing is to coat it with a non-toxic varnish of some sort. (water based) Epoxy is quite dangerous, the fumes are nasty and it can irritate the skin if it touches you, same dea with the fiberglass, but it sounds supercool to coat a mdf cabinet with it :D Hope you make that, send me a picture if you do :D
