Great question, Kelli. 💕 Yes, I use a regular paper embossing machine - mine is made by Sizzix. As long as you use very thin metal, it will work just fine.

It’s actually a very good question, Darlene. The reason is because when you bend the two pieces of metal, the top one has to be bigger to fit over the base. If they were riveted first, they would not be able to bend to different sizes. Does that make sense? The other thing you don’t want to do is drill all your rivet holes at the same time. You might get three of them to line up when riveting but I can pretty much guarantee you will not get the fourth. Drill one hole, rivet, then move to the diagonally opposite corner, drill and rivet.

Thanks for your comment, David. I am using a Foredom Flexshaft. It does basically the same thing as a Dremel but it has a foot pedal and the hand piece is much smaller, lighter, and easier to control.

@@itssooty - I gave you the wrong information. I do use brass texture plates but not for these bracelets. So sorry for the misinformation. For these bracelets, I use embossing folders that are sold for paper crafts. I put a very thin (30 g) piece of copper in them and run them through an embossing machine (I use a big shot). The folders are too wide to go through a rolling mill. You can get embossing folders at any craft store and many places online. Sorry again for the misinformation - I would still recommend playing with the texture plates but you will need a rolling mill for that.

I don’t think the half round would be enough - the copper I use for embossing is only 30 gauge and it needs something sturdy behind it to keep it from collapsing. If you don’t want to use the two pieces, I would recommend etching a thicker piece of copper and then shaping it.

I'm looking at Buccellati cuff bracelets, which is what they are best known for, and they all have these thicker edges on the inside, however I really don't know the gauge of the metal itself sadly. You should look at their designs, they might inspire you for a future video :)

Hi Brandy - Great question!! Yes, it was beeswax. There are other commercial lubricants you can buy but I prefer beeswax.

Thanks for your comment!! Sometimes I make my own rivets but for this project, I used copper rivets I purchased at a jewelry supply store. I’m not sure which one as I use several. Any supply store will have them.

I just use the small jewelry rivets. You can buy them at Rio Grande or any other jewelry supply store.

Sometimes I make my own rivets but I think I used store bought on this project. It’s been so long ago, I don’t remember where I got those but it would have either been Rio Grande, Monsterslayer.com, or Amazon. Just make sure you are buying solid copper, not plated.

Good question, Sylvie. I use Permalac - it's pretty expensive but because I sell my pieces I want to make sure the sealant will not crack or turn yellow. You can use any clear lacquer product to seal the copper.
