In this video we make a diy clear roof from old corrugated sheets we have an some new timbers running in at a super cheap cost to build. This diy clear roof from corrugated sheeting didn't take long to build and is all so light weights it's not very labour intensive either.

Hi, I was under the impression that you shouldn't put screws in the dip of the corrugated sheets but the high points because the rain will sit in the channels and start seeping through the screw holes, but if screwed through the high peaks it has no chance to have water sitting around the screws because of gravity, I don't think you had long enough screws for that anyway, but hopefully yours works fine as it is. I'm in the planning stages of building a shed from scratch and was just surfing for ideas and corner cutting tips etc :-) good videos I find projects slightly stressful but the achievement afterwards is rewarding..

as long as u use the screws with rubber washers it should be fine and yes the high points are best but you need to buy the special ridge fillers so u dont squash the ridges when screwing it down and they are $$$$

Been following you , for about a year, saw the solar install in the background of this video, which you uploaded too. Will be trying out your wind power, and vertical planter videos as l have just had built on offgrid eco house in Poland 35m2 . Will be living there in March, and will see how we get on, want to try hydroponics too . Very inspirational videos .

Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!

Is it ok to install the screws between those "bumps"? Mostly they install the screws on top of the roofing material "bumps".

What were your centers for the beams and purlins? Looks like about 18 inches. Did you think you got it right or recommend closer? Thanks for filming

NOT a builder here but I have been researching this for a few days now, I believe it depends on where you live and how much snow you get.

Thank you Ryan for releasing a great product as this [ Check Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Most of the plans I have imagined in my mind are put down on your woodworking plans. This is more like a genius job. I love it!?

There's really no need to add purlins/cross-battens to the rafters, just screw the corrugated sheets directly to the rafters.
@FieldtoFarm_UK
@FieldtoFarm_UK 3 жыл бұрын
Ye but then any snow would bend the sheets inwards and probably break something. So I always use purlins on a sheet roof
@AJ-ds5gf
@AJ-ds5gf 3 жыл бұрын
@@FieldtoFarm_UK If your rafter spacing is 40cm then there is no chance of a bow. If it's more, then even those thin battens won't be strong enough to withstand whatever weight you think the snow has over a few years. In the end, it's better to have 1mm+ corrugated sheets and just rafters at 40cm centres.

Wrong screws! There’s buffers you can buy to screw on tops of ridges! And tape on the holes? Really?? 🙈
