I live out here in the rougher part of New Orleans and that wallet be a no no. Seems all the dudes starting to get into the fad of those huge clutch wallets they are high name brand stuff.

The wooden thing is a burnishing tool, the marker is edge paint

I've always been curious, what is it that you put on the side of the leather? I assume it's to seal the edge, and probably harden it?

The white stuff is probably gum tragacanth and then a brown dye. It's to smoothen the edges for aesthetics and make them last a little longer (I don't think it does a lot about longevity but maybe it helps a bit)

It's called tokinole. It's a burnishing cream. You could use water or beeswax or a few other things, tokinole just seems to work best imo. All it does is smooth the edges over and give them a glossy finished look. It doesn't affect the actual durability/strength of the wallet

@@calebldanner actually it does. The tokonole, beeswax or any other burnishing cream not only makes the edges shine, but also seals the pores of the leather, making it harder for the leather to rip, or for the water to be absorbed.

@@calebldanner id like to respectfully disagree burnishing will protect the edges from water soaking in easily as well as making the edge unlikely to come apart as they are better bound on the edge and it slightly hardens the edge of the leather too

рублей 600 кусок, не больше. из куска можно 2-3 таких кошелька сделать. так что не дорого.

Простите, был не прав. Шкура лошади реально дорогая. 300 - 600р цена за 1 дм². Так что, такой кусочек может стоить 6 - 12тр.

Well ... I THINK if it came from Italy (the leather) it's great ... but this "detail" of HELL CORDOVAN could fit if it came from horween (or Row .. same s*&^) ... the entitled people in Chicago. I rather to clean sewers if they become the only leather supplier in this world.
