I'm sure games like that exist, but most of them are in a rubberhose cartoon style, not a manga style. Now, normally I'm more of a cartoon guy than an anime guy, but variety is the spice of life. This imbalance must be corrected.

Considering how this style is, as you put it, cheated at certain angles its a wonder that the turnaround looks as clean and sells the illusion as well as it does. If animated it feels like any seams or awkward shapes with the perspective could be smoothed with some clever shapekeys or the like. Great work!

i think the difference between the 3d model and the drawing is that the model* looks lifeless. The jittery lineart and the rough pen textures give manga a feel that you cant really get anywhere else. For example if youre trying to replicate the manga style in digital art, use a sketch pencil as your only brush. Then duplicate your final drawing layer to make it darker. Thats what ive been doing and honestly it does a good job at replicating the style im trying to replicate. I dont think its possible to add nodes on the lines in blender, but if you could I would definetly make the lineart less perfect and more squiggly and rough. It gives it this hand drawn feel and it gives it personality too! Really good model also! I have no idea how to even comprehend how you would do this even though you show your process lol.

I do have a full real time video up on my gumroad of me making Launch. It's 13 hours long but it shows everything I do. A real step by step process. I feel like the more detail a model has, the more it brings to the table and it really is all the small details that make them come to life.
