Hi all
Finding a good mutton curry pie can sometimes prove to be a hard prospect. That's the reason why Pranesh ( / @southafricanwanderer ) uses chicken and mushroom as the standard pie to rate on his channel. So today we are making a mutton curry (lamb curry) pie and Pranesh gives us his rating!
Ingredients
500g lamb meat, cut into small pieces
Marinate meat with:
1 tsp steak and chops spice
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup oil
1 med onion, finely diced
1 cup frozen mixed veg
2 med potatoes, cubed small
2 med tomatoes, diced
1 tbs mixed masala
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp hurdee (tumeric)
1/2 ts dhania (coriander) powder
1 tsp pure chillie powder
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp crushed ginger and garlic
1 tsp rough salt, adjust to taste
1 stem curry leaves
a few sprigs of thyme
spring onion and dhania to garnish
2 tsp vegatable stock
1 tbs maizena/corn flour
For the pies
1kg puff pastry
1 egg for egg washing
2 tbs milk
Serve hot from the oven, with chips or a salad. Can be frozen for baking at a later date.
