Making a split from a top bar hive

Prior to this video I split a very strong colony in half, taking the queen out and moving her and half the combs to a new hive. 9 days later in this video I create a nuc using several combs from the now queenless colony which has built several queen cells. I left the original colony with most of the queen cells and placed one cell in the split. This is the easiest way to create new colonies since you don't need to raise queens separately or buy queens.

You do a good job of explain WHAT you are doing, but it would be so much or rewarding to watch if you explained WHY you are doing it. I asked WHY so many times in this video. I think if you explained WHY you are doing things as you do them you would have many more subscribers.

Thanks, I was just sharing my hobby with others. I no longer keep bees, too many problems with mites and starvation over winters.
