I like you methods, and I admire the fact that you can actually make something out of nothing, I noticed no fancy machenaries in your shop, nor the space required by other youtube woodworkers, and your ways of utilizing simple 2x4s into something of value, sets you aside from the rest. A classic seasoned, old school wood crafter, keep up the good work, though with my 40 years of experience, I learned a thing or two from you.

Your full face shield is great to see. 1 year ago, a close friend at my work lost an eye from the table saw. It him at estimated speed of 80 mph just below his eye. The concussion of the wood hitting him near the eye destroyed everything behind. You do great woodworking my friend 👍

Hey, Josh. I love the creative ways that you use the biscuit joiner and I also love the idea of cutting a large box/drawer into a few smaller ones. The pipe splines really give an interesting look even if they did not add a lot of strength. They are an excellent design feature. Thanks for the video. I always learn so much from watching you since you are often very creatively "out of the box"

I have been woodworking for only a couple years off and on so I still consider myself a beginner, but I have watched probably thousands of videos of other woodworkers and I just saw at least 3 or 4 things I have never seen anyone else do. The ring splines, aluminum splines, using a biscuit joiner to cut grooves and dados and the long drawer cut down are all things I hadn't seen before. I was unsure about getting a biscuit joiner but now I think I want one, lol. I am not a fan of the way the drawer slides look, but everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I like how the drawer fronts look. I am going to try the ring splines on a few things, I like that look. Your uniqueness (at least to me) in how you do things earned another subscription. I will be checking out some more of your videos. Thanks for showing me some new and interesting things😁 oh and I almost forgot, that plane... I've never seen anything like it. It's a bit pricey for me but love the idea of replaceable blades!

To me, aluminum and wood together are wonderful! They work together especially well in hardwoods that have been sanded to a high grit and polished. Polishing the aluminum is a must for this but the results are certainly worth it. I think your "experiment" with the aluminum is very cool.

You’re a talented very artist, I respect that! Having said that you’re a novice woodworker, that’s not an insult….it takes a decade to become an intermediate and 2 decades to join the pro circuit. As a 20yr elder…..who has shown RESPECT, please take these words of wisdom in the same fashion. Make yourself a Handle style hold down push block. It’s simple and I promise you will thank me, when your knowledge is in line with this design. For an example, use your favorite handle shape from a classic hand saw, or even the complete handle will work (however it’s just as easy to make it out of 1/2” birch plywood) yes it’s expensive, but not as expensive as losing a few fingers. I have the same job site saw as you so I’ll use it as an example. Mine is 10” tall x 17” long…..it slowly tapers to the handle which is a template of my old school hand saw. The bottom in which a 3/8” notch is cut leaving a 3/8”x 2” - notch “hook” to lock the piece of wood you plan on ripping. The benefit is with the “handle style push block” is because we made our handle cut out at the top in front of the wood hook (notch) at the bottom, we have full control over our piece of wood we ripping….it cannot lift in the front because we have downward pressure from our handle cut out….which is well above the table saw fence. The start of my handle cut out is 6” above the lowest part of our push block (the 3/8” notch) I’ve seen plenty of the same style on YT, however I’ve never seen one built correctly. They always make the handle at or barley above the top of fence, why I’m exactly 6” from top of the saws table, I’m also 2-1/2” above the top of fence….that’s for good reason, in which many other jigs and benefits will arise. But that’s in the future, as for now I wanna see you continue to elevated your skills and artistic abilities…..but I wanna see it safely! I’ve met too many 4 fingered carpenters in my day, everyone of em was a table saw accident from not using the proper push stick and bows/cups/knots in hardwoods. Just for being a good mentor, if you read this all, you’ll see a link in a reply comment and I’ll guarantee it will be best gift you’ve had in a very long time! All the best grasshopper! -Darin Read

Just a thought: since you used nails to hide the holes in the bottom of the tool rest you could inset some rare earth magnets into the bottom of the handles of your lathe chisels. That way when you set them into the rest, the magnet will help hold it in place. Awesome build! Keep up the great work!

From the perspective of watching it on this video, I think the black paint really popped, but I also know that any shop project should match your other shop "furniture" items. I like the aluminum, but not sure if I would do that. I understand that this was part of your purpose to integrate metal into the design. One thing for sure, the oscillating tool (multi-tool?) has some great function. Well made!!
