Many of you suggested on my steering wheel video that I make a matching walnut shift knob, so I did. I learned the lathe to do this. I tried to copy the shape from my Condor Speed Shop tall knob and I stole the weight from it. It's a tall knob but my car has a short-throw kit, and it's a good length for me.

love what you're doing! Keep it up! After grinding with 800 paper put water on the wood, let it rest for a bit (don't let it dry) and dry it with a heat gun. After you dried it, you probably will be able to see or rather to feel the little splinters that "raised up". Grind it with 1000 paper repeat the process and keep using finer papers. Do this before you apply anything on the wood and you will get a beautiful and smooth finish. I study as a gunsmith and we use this method on the stocks we make. It realy makes a huge difference. You probably know this trick but if not I hope it helps! :D Cheers!

@@MarlonB44 yes it probably does. We used it on every kind of wood and it really makes a difference. What wood do you want to try it on?

Yeah but not with a 3 axis router, you’d need to mill it from really large chunk of wood. Alternatively you can wrap the plastic dash in a wood wrap or something. I’m not sure if it would look good on these cars
