Making crystal clear maibachi for Taiko no Tatsujin
The whole project took about 6 hours doing everything by hand. My wrist hurt for a couple days after completion but I think the outcome was absolutely worth it
Materials:
-Acrylic rod (2cm)
-Block plane (to carve into the acrylic)
-Sandpaper (50, 60, 100, 150, 400, 600, 2000)
-Meguiar's PlastX (Plastic polish)
🎵BGM:
Windmill Isle Day - ( • Windmill Isle (Day) - ... )
Dragon Road Day - ( • Dragon Road (Day) - So... )
Thanks for watching!

How did you learn about those marking points of your maibachi craft? Or was it just based on what you personally wanted? I'm stir crazy during the pandemic era, unemployed, and your video filled me with inspiration. I understand that the weight needs to be mostly towards your hands.

If I get taiko switch should I also invest in a drum or stick with joycon controls?
@Kev2o2
@Kev2o2 4 жыл бұрын
Play with Joycons first (buttons, *not motion controls* ), if you like the game enough to warrant buying the drum, go for it. Something important to consider though.. the Switch Dock has delay, so having a wired connection (Drum -> Switch Dock) is slower than playing wireless + Docked mode. It becomes very obvious in higher difficulties, so if you want to play at your best, a low input delay Monitor is a must.

@@avbyval but that's why you can push yourself to learn the tatacon play. I'm a beginner too, but love rhythm games. This game is easy to learn, but hard to master. Don't let the learning curve stop you, focus on having fun and practising on a few charts you love first. You will find thr game enjoyable when doing the music you love

I know this vid was about the sticks but I’m hoping you can help regardless. Do you know of anyway to DIY an actual taiko drum controller? I have an old PS2 rock band drum set and I feel like there has to be a way to do it but I can’t find any info online
@Kev2o2
@Kev2o2 Жыл бұрын
I need clarification on what your end goal is. If you are looking to make an arcade equivalent controller for a specific console and not just PS2, then you would need a minicontroller, soldering, and probably coding experience? There's also a theoretical easy way by hacking up an existing wired controller and soldering the wires of the Rock Band sensors to the button contacts on the wired controller. If you're looking for help on manufacturing a wood drum and rubber cover, I can try to get measurements for you, just let me know. As for materials, rubber is not exactly cheap, and the molding would also be costly, so an alternative material may be good for the project, like the rubber on a drumming practice pad, cut it up and glue it down to your project.

Are these worth making? Or are they too heavy/dense? Cos I plan to make my own bachi.
@Kev2o2
@Kev2o2 4 жыл бұрын
I do not recommend making bachi out of plastic, this was just for the video, they're not good for actual use. They're heavy, incredibly difficult to carve, and absorb too much impact when hitting the drum.
