Really love the reduced proportions and the inlaid handle scales. It was a very thick design on the first attempt, but this is much closer to the historical examples and probably a much better cutting tool, too, given the finer edge angle. Work hardening the edge was likewise a great addition to the process. Great work, and a great video.

Awesome video. Would love to see some classical Egyptian materials used for the handle, such as cedar wood and perhaps lapis lazuli inlays.

love those wood hanlesides. kudos. The dagger in the stone. (I believe the arthurian legend to be the story about the start of iron age. as later on the lady of the lake presents A. another sword, lake could mean bog iron )

Cut this one in half, weigh the blade, and then add hollow spots in the handle to balance it. 😋 Great stuff

It looks so great and it is even usable due to the percentages of copper and tin and the hardening of the edges. Will you make more of them and if yes could I buy one?

Great stuff! Super excited to try some of these out. Been working on trying to do fine jewelry but I realized I should start with bigger, less complex items... as well as less expensive metals hahahah

I really enjoy watching your videos. I to do metal work and I find your videos to be very informative and nicely done. I'm in the process of building my second foundry, an all stainless tank. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated thank you Seth for you time and input.

mike and rhonda selph I’m glad you like them! I have a few videos that are about furnace making if you haven’t seen them. I would recommend joining the backyard foundry group on Facebook. It’s a wealth of information. If you don’t have a Facebook account i think it’s worth it to sign up for the sole purpose of utilizing that group. Cheers

Hi really nice dagger I had a question it is very hard to find true bronze copper/tin I mostly see zinc added instead do you happen to make bronze coins there is a very interesting Roman coin that was called the doudonous I believe or 2 pounder a large cast coin from early Roman times

I think the blade width for the first one was perfect but the hilt was a bit too long. They were roughly 32.4 cm and 1 foot long.

Just a tip don’t put the metal when it is hot in water is cools it off too fast and will make it crack easy put it in oil❤love the content
