Right off the bat, I'm really enjoying watching him talk. He's soft spoken, old school carpenter. It's not regular KZfaq 'brad nail carpentry'. I am going to thoroughly enjoy watching this video. 👍

Good video. I have made several sets of cabriole legs many years ago. I always found these project to be very rewarding. It is semi-carving, and like the sculptors always say "just remove what doesn't belong there" Great feeling when it is done. And easy on the back, my stage in life.

I do plan on making new chairs when my grandson get a few years older and I really appreciate that your showing this build. However I would really like to see Dave's vise that he mentioned early one this video. I'm having a hard time trying to picture it in my mind. Thanks for sharing

I understood the bandsaw skip as I have made several. The layout process is what I find interesting, how you get the balance you are looking for. Maybe later you can do a video on that. Thx!

because watching someone cut tape is more exciting than watching cuts on a bandsaw...........

Rather than taping the waste back onto the work piece, can’t you just cut with the bandsaw to within a quarter of an inch or so? Seems to me to be more accurate than taping pieces back on with the kerf loss. I’m posing this as a question.

Yes you can do that, you just need to be aware of the chatter that can occur when cutting your pieces

A Great video and exciting content. We just had to keep rewinding it with the volume all the way up to hear what you say as you trail off at the end of your sentences. Then the next sentence you begin, starts loudly and we have to rush over to turn you down again. Maybe have your editor bring the volume up when you trail off and whisper. Or you can just speak up and enunciate throughout your sentences. It would be very helpful!! Thank you for sharing your woodworking talent.

Enjoyed this but you could have cut those cuts on the bandsaw about as fast as it took you to explain it and it would have been clearer

Much rather watch the bandsaw being used than watching packing tape being cut off.

I a. Going to make mine from cardboard, then to layer those with wedges, then to mask tape them like a fan shape and fill in the gaps with small pieces of card board then to put plaster all over the leg after completely taping it all in the correct shape, then adding enough thickness of plaster to it an let it dry, then to sad day it m then paint it tan shades…and already have the table top ready…Gabriel shape legs….

-4 Carl, Standard approach - lots of different tools all of which are too slow and tenuous. Lots more practice before a one-day class.

The spalted wood grain in the work bench is much more beautiful than the chair legs' grain.
