Ginny's wand is also a special wand because it connects her to both harry and Voldemort. So voldemort's wand is yew wood and Phoenix feather and Harry shares the core of Phoenix feather while Ginny's wand is made up of yew wood

I would've been so done when it broke at the beginning. But when it broke at the end I would've cried. It turned out so good. Love your videos!

@@garricksapprentice I appreciate it. I made a replica of the elder wand. I used an x-acto knife and my brothers old dremel. Surprisingly it turned out decent. But there’s one part that is slightly crooked. All that to say I just like to see that I’m not the only one who struggles. You could have just edited out it breaking but you didn’t and you found a way to add humor to an otherwise frustrating situation. I respect that a lot.

I never knew Ginny had such an intricate wand. I think I’m used to seeing the Golden Trio wands from the first films where they were literally just different coloured sticks, n then they upped their game with Voldy Baldy’s wand, and bam now we have this sexy black wand (no pun intended) for everyone’s favourite HP Redhead

This video gave me anxiety with the number of setbacks there were. I bet you were beyond relieved to finally finish it. I love how with Ginny's, Bella's, and Arthur's, you knew how to remedy some undesired occurrences in various ways. Yet another testament to your talent with this craft.

Watching your videos is rekindling my love of woodturning....I remember the perils of turning Yew...it checks like crazy ..it also often explodes when used for firewood.

ik, the ones that noble collection sells are made from a mold, made of high quality resin with a metal rod up through the middle for the core for durability and weight. don't get me wrong, they're very nice, but I don't think much effort goes into making them from molds, making them out of wood is much more tedious

Very nice, must take a lot of time and patience to get it just right. You really are talented and get even details down like with then shaft of the elder wand having bits that look like they were carved instead of turned. Makes me want to tackle my own wand (from "Pottermore") someday, when I have the right tools, wood, and experience. For now these videos and the one I hastily made from a tree branch are satisfactory.

Cannot wait until you make Snape's! Although his specs aren't clear, it's still a very beautiful wand, with slight similarities to Ginny's. I'd also think it'd be Yew- or Blackthorn-appropriate, since our dear martyr always had a proclivity for dark magic and spell development. Awesome and beautiful job!

Just found your channel tonight. How it has never popped up before with all the Harry Potter stuff I’ve looked up over the years boggles the mind! Before this one I’ve watched Elder, Neville, Draco, Cedric and my favorite so far Bellatrix! While watching this one I said to myself “I wonder if he’s ever broke one on the lathe?” Well, I got my answer literally seconds later! And let me tell ya, the Weasley’s (not known for having money), Mr. Weasley would’ve done the same thing! Kudos…. Lol, Mr. Weasley! 😉 Seriously… your channel makes me so jealous. those first two breaks, ouch. Looks like a micro-crack you didn't see considering the inside looks like it was exposed to the elements. Could be talking out my bum though XD Honestly my fav of the canon wand designs, I just adore that fluted handle. Ouch, ouch, ouch! after all that work! Insanis Glutin Repario! Beautiful end result, worth it!

Yeah I was being lazy/pushing my luck as that piece of yew was a bit too cracked - and turning the final diameters isn't difficult so allows a bit more strength for the carving

According to J.K Rowling Ginny's wand is made of yew wood, making it an interesting coincidence that both Harry's mortal enemy and his true love have the same wand wood.

What are your thoughts on stabilizing wood with cactus juice before turning it?

Don't know much about it but it's only needed for spalted (rotten/soft) woods - this yew wouldn't have absorbed much or any and the cracks would have still split

I made a Ginny Weasley's wand by hand only; however, I didn't have yew. I also made Luna's first wand by hand. Both were for a friend of mine.

Do you do the same wood? For example if in the book the wand is from a certain tree, do you use that same wood while making wands? Edit : i don't know the names of trees and wood in English, so i thought yew was some marking meaningful to you or something

😨😠 I love yew wood but it can be unpredictable, I was carving an owl inside a tree branch but I had to start again because it had some rot inside 😕. I also started to turn a goblet but couldn't cope with the splits 😣 it ended up as a spinning top 😂 your videos are great. Thankyou for sharing 😊
