The project titled “To devise manual stair climbing wheelchair” is a final year project during Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering at Tribhuvan University, Institute if Engineering, Thapathali Campus, fabricated at Robotics and Automation Centre, Thapathali Campus.
This is supposed to be a small effort towards the humanity to help disablers. So, this project aims to make a wheelchair climb stairs of few steps along with user and overcoming obstacles like curbs, by fabricating a prototype wheelchair considering the manual power as the main power source.
Yet, there are many limitations, and several modifications to be done for further efficiency and practical uses.
The project was also selected for Abhiskar Fellowship 2017 provided by ISET-Nepal, due to which it was possible to make a real scale prototype.
