For this edition of Model Behavior, Kayte and Norm try their hands at assembling a pair of 1/220 scale architectural papercraft models from Sankei, making use of Kayte's favorite papercrafting tools. The glue is made by Lineco especially for book binders. It's thicker than PVA glue like Elmer's Glue All because it has less water. This makes it ideal for paper as it won't cause the paper to wrinkle as it dries. A little goes a long way. Apply it sparingly and use pressure for a strong bond.

Sankei also does recreations of some of the architecture of buildings from Studio Ghibli movies and many other Studio Ghibli related kits! I've already made three of them and I love all of them. I still have two in the WIP stage though, so this has got me a bit more excited to go back and resume them!

HLJ is probably the easiest and cheapest way. I've used them for so many different kits, ranging from gundam to papercraft to make your own candy sushi. But that's not all they have, it's a great place, just keep in mind shipping is a bit and it will be for a reason, but it's a great company.

1:220 is "Z" scale in model railroading. The smallest commercial scale for model trains. I use Kayte's method of dispensing glue, but I used an upturned shot glass for precision application of yellow glue or super thin ACC. The glass is easy to clean after the glue dries. Those micro brushes have many uses applying glues, plastic solvent and lubes. Paper models can be a lot nicer than you might think

There's also T-Gauge at 1:450; although it's not nearly as well established as the larger scales. The growing community around it looks to be using paper models and 3d-printing in addition to traditional methods

This is Z gauge :) N is 1:160 or 1:148 mainly used in the UK, something about their trains being to small in 1:160 couldn't get the motors to fit back in the day, so they made it 1:148, but kept the 9mm track width.

I was interested in trying these out but they are ridiculously expensive for something made out of paper. I build Metal Earth type kits all the time and these are cheaper and made of metal. I can't see why these papercraft kits cost so much. Yes they are imports, but most everything we get in the USA is imports, especially electronics and these are not marked up so high.
