another underutilized bit of the reaction spectrum is reverse Melt (aka Melt with a Cryo trigger), it would be nice if we got either a Pyro unit that applies bunch of Pyro to enable this version of Melt, because we have Cryo units that already can be Melt damage dealers

man, this video brought back some memories for me. Back when 1.2 came out, i submitted a handful of character ideas to mihoyo. none of them got into the game but, regardless, creating characters is always fun. I had ideas for a hydro claymore character from inazuma, a cryo catalyst user who studies in sumeru (inspired by lisa who came from the academiya), a pyro catalyst user similar to barbara but with a twist and a dendro sword user from inazuma. back then, dendro only had burning as a reaction, so my character ideas did not account for any of the new dendro reactions which came when dendro released. this video is inspiring me to revisit those ideas. Back then, inazuma wasn't out yet but people already had an idea that it would be based off of japan. sumeru was mention in lisa's character profiles since she was from the akademiya. i had no art made for these characters and the kits are outdated as it stands now. to share a bit of detail on some of the characters: the hydro claymore user was meant to be a female samurai who uses an odachi. her kit was meant to revolve around infusing her normal attacks with hydro which in turn increases her attack speed with every attack. she was meant to be an on-field hyper carry similar to razor at the time but with the ability to freely switch out with no downsides. her skill gives the hydro infusion and attack speed increase plus a buff on her attack's range, similar to noelle's burst. her burst is just a quick horizontal slash, imagine childe's melee burst but it cuts through a big crescent in front of her, providing hydro res shred on top of the damage it would deal. the cryo catalyst user i had in mind was designed based off of dante's lucifer weapon from devil may cry 4. he essentially is a cryo xingqiu but his whole kit revolves around his burst. his burst, similar to xingqiu, works off-field. each instance puts an icicle debuff on the enemy up to a maximum of 5. each icicle debuff reduces cryo res by 3%. his E which has a low cooldown of 6 seconds DETONATES all icicle debuffs on enemies, dealing damage which scales off of the number of icicles consumed per enemy unit. his ascension passive 1 essentially allows him to apply icicle debuffs with his normal attacks as well as his burst -- making him viable as both an on-field dps or off-field sub dps in a quick swap team. when i was designing him i was lamenting how there is no cryo character capable of sustaining forward melt for my xiangling so i made his entire kit apply cryo. the pyro catalyst user was supposed to be an idol similar to barbara, i didn't have a nation of origin for her. she was meant to be a catalyst user who summons a phoenix which follows the on-field character around and dives into enemies within a specific radius of the character to attack them ( similar to the oceanid hydro hawks). the idea was inspired by oz at the time. her burst summons the phoenix again with a fiery explosion(refreshing its duration if it already is on the field), applies an attack buff on the entire party and heals all party members aside from herself. the burst costs her own HP. essentially, imagine a xiangling but the pyronado is now a phoenix summoned by her skill and her burst now heals and buffs the entire team at the cost of her own HP. the dendro sword user from inazuma was meant to be an off-field dendro applicator. her E would be similar to kuki's skill. she does a spinning sword slash similar to the spinning attack of the samurai enemies in inazuma and which then sucks leaves around her. the leaves would swirl around her faster when applying dendro, similar to how kuki's E acts. Her burst is a quick dash forward, after she dashes, leaves are left behind in her trail, slashing down like razor blades. inspired by the old batto-jutsu duels in rorouni kenshin or some shit. imagine the gladiator's line drive skill in dragon nest. the burst is just meant to deal dmg and apply dendro. the skill is the main highlight. at the time, i imagined her skill to sustain burning as it would continuously reapply dendro.

Backstory: He is an adventurer from Natlan that was able to escape the Borders with the help of his parents sacrificing themselves in the process. He heads to Sumeru in search for a place to call home. P.S: since we have no Natlan Characters or Npc i assumed that Natlan is on Lockdown

Nilou already IS a 5* burgeon unit since She makes the blooms exolode right away just like what burgeon does. So its the samé with differnd Team build becouse of the dendro hydro thing. Yeah my vocabulary IS so Nice XD

I've been using burgeon yanfei very successfully: good range, fast pyro hits and not so fast pyro application with surprisingly good aoe on her na's, which allows you to explode cores which are fairly close to enemies, ability to cover more area with e and ca's. But the catch is: she's incredibly squishy and unless you actually utilize her range you will most likely die either to mobs in abyss or to burgeon self damage, so unless you're into sweat and skill expression i wouldn't recommend

Love this, you are definitely my favorite small KZfaqr right now. My only complaint is that I feel bad for Thoma, outside of burgeon he is only great in Wanderer teams and alright in Hu Tao amd Yoimiya teams. The sword is really well designed, the main thing I am comparing it to is Xiphos, as it's s hard to tell how strong freedom sworn would be and it would vary team to team. He probably won't need much er once he gets c4, which is reasonable to expect for someone pulling on the weapon banner for it, and it will provide extra healing while reducing his er requirement and providing EM. However, it is arguably still worse than Xiphos, since even though the ER on him is overkill, it giving ER to the rest of your team allows them to focus more on stats they want in their artifacts rather than ER. You could turn it from an ATK buff to an ATK to EM conversion to outpace the dmg indirectly provided by moonlight, but the extra healing and talent damage buff provided by your version could be enough to make this worth it. I think mine is better, but I am biased and yours would be just fine.

I have a killer Burgeon team with Nahida, Yanfei using flower of paradise lost. and two flex slots depending on who I'm fighting. Generally I like Xinqiu and Baizhu. Swap Xinqiu for Dendro traveler if fighting a water enemy. Xinqiu, Thoma, AlHaithem and a flex slot is good too.

i love this, especially since I myself have some idea's of my own and now that i saw this video i might consider making them public as well. Like a Geo Architect that creates Geo structures and deals damage using said geo structures (Like Zhongli E) acting like a Geo Fishl. burst like Xingqui that proc on auto attacks but are AoE like the last attack from geo trav and knock back enemies, calling it Unstable Design or something, he needs a lot of work tho. I also had this idea of a monstadter electro claymore user who deals physical damage. Calling the claymore A shattered heart, a Broken Promise. a knight of favonius who joined because she needed to take care of her sick mother promising they would see eachother again. Had to join an expedition, during said expedition they got surrounded/entrapped in a valley by the abyss order. She got a letter from home saying her mother had taken a turn for the worse. eventually she made it home but she was too late. in her grief and anger bacause of her inability to save her mother she smashed her sword onto the stone shattering it. the sparks comming from the impact materialized in a vision. Her sword now holds together by electromagnatism she gained through her vision and she and break the sword apart to create a whip of sword fragments. What we also havent seen yet in Genshin is a Low energy, Low cooldown burst. Think along the lines of Kassadin from league of legends. it could be a cool idea to explore. an other thought is a dendro character who uses her powers of dendro to make silk. give her a spider theme. Her E summons a spider(s) that deal dot dendro damage. and her burst creates a big spiders wed on the ground slowing large monsters or imobalizing weaker ones debuffing them. a Constellation talent could be that she enhances the power of her spiderlings when they are in the Ult. sorry if any grammar is bad or if i spelled a word wrong....... i have dyslexia. just wanted to say that before someone will eventually correct me.

i think burr has so many buffs (EM and burgeon DMG) that his kit getting overloaded with those plus any external buffs he may receive will make burgeon a bit too strong. it's already pretty strong as it is so I would probablt tone the self buffs down a bit. Other than that, great kit, creative

What iv been using as a Burgeon is Yoimiya with a The Viridescent Hunt.. just an opinion, but since i want to stand away from the burgeon bow works well.. and the cc of the bow draws in seeds Yelan, Nahida & Baizhu on the team~

I love the concept and these types of videos. Does the c4 give 1 energy to each party member? If it does, I think it's to op regarding 4* standards. 40 energy in 15 seconds is much more than any other talent or constellation (except for raiden ofc). Regardless it's a great character design. I hope to see more of them cuz I have lots of ideas of my own.

I feel like u missed the opportunity to make him hp scaling so he can’t use the better 5 star em sword which is Key. Plus it would open him to synergies with like Forward Vape Furina teams since he is a healer.

if this was real it would have been a pretty big buff to bain marie as Baizhu's buff does not buff Wrio's melt damage and i find Baizhu's off field to be pretty meh for burgeon..

I’d say I’m fine with it but that c6 is politely so terrible I think it should be what when a vape burn or burngeion makes it so all hydro and pyro units gain a 20/25 % defense negation that is gained through 5% intervals how many times they prock. I understand making the c6 a em buff but I think a character based around a reaction shouldn’t be getting outbuffed by diona in said em buff
