Helpful video dealing with some of the pitfalls, but at the same time a little disappointing because no cement/aggregate mix given that I heard.

The only way to get bubbles out of that wet slop is a mouse sander against the frame… In any case, you can buy paving stones for cheaper than the effort you’re putting in

Hi Brian, all that is happening when I use the SDS drill is vibrating the air bubbles that were produced at the time of mixing and pouring the concrete mix to the surface. If the bubbles weren't realised the slab may loose strength. When you pour a concrete slab on the ground to form a path or base, then the action of tamping the mix down will draw the bubbles to the surface. However you could hire a vibrating concrete poker from your local hire centre.

Hi Bob, thanks. the slab moulds do have a stone face to them and they are 450mm x 450mm. I can't say it was the most cost effective project that I have done lol but it is handy to have the ability to make a few slabs when they are needed.

The blue portion of the mold appears to have a stone face , like stamped concrete. Where did you get that? Also how large are these slabs? Good video, thanks.

if i frame on the floor do u suggest still poking wholes for air? maybe use a road base under insted of just dirt? they will potentially be 24x48?

How are the pavers holding up? I don't see a part 2 video after the cement cured.

they are holding up really well. I was too impatient to make another video lol and I used them for a shed base.

3:1 a good strong paving mix.

being a joiner not a builder, but, I was told that 6:1 was a concrete mix, 3:1 for cement? I ask cos I am gonna make my own slabs, good vid BTW, not a waste of time I think (if you need to relay a path with 2 colour rustic looking slabs I saw recently-then baulked at the cost-£6 each!!) thankyou for posting.

john smith I totally agree..unless you have the setup to mass produce these little fu@$ers it's a pointless, time consuming effort with little or no payout. lesson learned....Although they did come in handy for a shed base later that year and the video has earned me a few quid along the way. 😁😁😁

Worth it if you want to use left over cement, concrete...materials...etc., if you factor in the cost of trying to get rid of it after a job. Great video!
