HYELLOO, this week we're gonna make the beach spooky, because why not? Sometimes you just need a break from summer, okay? So I made a spooky bathing suit & overskirt, umbrella, & glasses- here we GOOOOOO echoes as bats fly into the air

I adore how much Rachel has ascended to a level of not caring about what other people think. Like showing up to the beach 100% Halloween gear is so far beyond being nervous about your neighbors. I feel so oddly proud of this growth like I had anything to with it! Lol

What I appreciate is that those houses likely have people in them, either vacationers or homeowners for the summer. I'd be that person staring out of the window with my cup of coffee, mid sip, and see this tomfoolery going on. Betcha I'd be down there, despite the wind it looked fun as heck!

@@bradmcgowan Liquid white was not white gesso. You gesso your canvas first, then you apply liquid white over it. The liquid white is a mix of white and oil that keeps your canvas "wet" for a long time, allowing you to blend things on the canvas.

@@AintThatJustTheWay sure, I get the concept of parking permits, but would it really cost $50 to park for an afternoon? Also why the “cursed!” she said afterwards… that makes it sound more like a violation ticket? Yup. I’m officially over thinking this. I’m going to assume that you need some kind of filming permit she didn’t get or she parked illegally… but I suppose if the beach was closed due to bad weather they could have ticketed her for just being there? We may never know…

Ok, so I work at Joanns, and funny story about those chef’s kiss hands - I opened a small box off the truck one day and nearly screamed… the hands were all reaching out of the box like tarantula legs. @@auditoryeden watered down acrylic works fine for an airbrush paint sprayer based on personal experience. I guess it can vary, though. And we never know, maybe it broke down or something. 😬

....I just purchased skeleton mens bathing shorts to go over the dinosaur skeleton suit I recently bought haha. The shorts are supposed to arrive today :) and last year I bought swim pants. Never felt so comfortable swimming in my life. Now I'm thinking about a cobweb wrap to go with everything haha

Oh my god! That vintage swimsuit pattern, McCall's 9295 in the green checks, is THE EXACT PATTERN my mother used in 1956 or so to make herself a swimsuit! She didn't gather the bottoms of the legs so they were more like shorts, and she wore it mostly as what used to be called a play suit. What fun! The pattern hung around her sewing stash for years, is why I remember it so vividly.

When my eldest wanted a black cape, I sewed on half a bag of small, glow in the dark spiders all over it. Instead of ribbon ties, I used large safety pins to attach the cape to her, t-shirt's shoulders. My mommy brain was worried she would get runned over or strangled during the one hour she would be trick or treating (at 3 pm). 🍄🍄

I’ve tried to like summer as an adult but I think I’ve come to the conclusion that summer is for childhood and though they were wonderful memories, I cannot commit to this season. I’ve already started looking for Halloween decorations so this video came at a beautiful time 😂 Edit: today is also the 28th anniversary of Hocus Pocus. The stars are aligned today friends 😘👌🏼

as someone whose childhood was very recent, i've always despised summer. aside from school being out, it has no redeeming qualities. mosquitoes in humid places, fires in drier places, and people expect you to get in large bodies of water, which i find disgusting

Rachel, I love you and I want you to know this: They make spray paint that works on flexible surfaces and can be used to spray paint fabrics and fabric-like materials! And it's not like a hard-to-find online only sort of thing, you can get the brands at most big box home improvement stores! I get not being able to find an orange umbrella, but you shouldn't have had to paint the whole thing with a 1/2" brush and a bottle of acrylic paint! T-T
