Making the classical guitar Solera

Here I show you my way to make a work board; a Solera to make a classical guitar. It is not just a straight board as you will see.
It's used for my new design: a Mini or travel guitar.

Sounds amazing for such a small body. And flamenco is usually played with a capo anyways. What wood did you use for the back and sides ? I wonder how it would sound in Spanish Cypress. Thanks for sharing !

Awesome. Thank your for your contribution. You build a solera for a 14 string guitar but does this method works even for e big guitar like 12 string for example?

Soleras are used for making classical guitars with a Spanish heel constryction. Steelstring guitars are not made on a solera. You make the body and the neck seperately and then join them.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. For a full size classical guitar Solera the neck is lowered 2 or 1mm? The deep in the middle is 2 or 3mm? My Regards.

Hi Darin, the neck is lowered 2 mm and the deep in the middle the same. That is your starting point. Make a guitar and see if it works all right. It may take several guitars before you're satisfied with the adjustments you made in between. Hope this helps you!

This method showed a solera for a guitar 14 fret neck joint with the body, but Can I do the same method with the 12 fret neck joint with the body too??

Guitar plans are availible at StewMac in the Usa or Roy Courtnall in the UK. And there are many other sources to get plans. Good Luck!
