Love your technique!!! The only thing is how did you push the wire through the glued crack that you use to hold the cleat with? Thanks in advance

0:35 Why waste time doing this? Only to then cut the string off? It’s a nylon strung guitar at low tension, just cut the strings as they were and save a lot of unnecessary effort 😮🇬🇧🙏

When I was young, I had a Gibson Les Paul Junior with a sunburst finish. It was in VERY GOOD condition and all original. I believed this to have been made in 1953. The number on the neck was 000006 or 0000006. It also had an Alligator Skin Guitar case and a Gibson Ga Amp which was also covered in Alligator skin. QUESTION; How much do you think this would be worth today?

Neodymium magnets are a great boon for many things- as others have pointed out, I have also used them at times for clamping cleats in place more easily than the tuner trick, as long as I have landmarks inside for positioning by feel- just want to be careful positioning cleat and inner magnet and then apply the outer one straight down rather than approaching from the side to avoid pulling the inner assembly sideways. One thing, though- when using magnets to align an initial crack glue-up, I now make a point of making sure I’ve got a bit of wax paper between the magnet and the guitar top to prevent the magnet from sticking to glue squeeze-out on the top of the instrument.

@advankuijk
@advankuijk 8 ай бұрын
in het buigijzer zit een thermostaat die de temperatuur constant houdt. Het buigen gaat gaandeweg steeds langzamer omdat de marges van correctie steeds kleiner worden, dus je gaat steeds nauwkeuriger werken. Groeten Ad

The guitar playing in the background sounds like a classical adaptation of Manolo Sanlucar's ''Nacencia''. Your guitar sounds amazing.

how how would suggest thinning a neck on a parlour guitar. It is just a bit too thick.

Hello Ad, I learned a lot in your video. At 13:30 the tone drop to G and the vibrating for almost 2 seconds. Then you primarely listening to the length of the vibrations. So as your experience, how many seconds it vibrates is the maximum to achieve before over the boundery point ? My objective is around F - F#. Thank you very much.

what is the reason to curve the fret wire¿ elegant guitar by the way!.
@advankuijk
@advankuijk Жыл бұрын
They need to be bent before insertion, otherwise the ends will have a tendency to pop up out of the slots. Hammering and glue by themselves will not hold a straight fret in a curved form for long. If anything, the common approach is to slightly over-bend them so that the middle of the arch sits higher than the fretboard, so that when they're hammered/pressed in the fret tangs are forced sideways along the length of the fret into the wood giving them better grip.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. For a full size classical guitar Solera the neck is lowered 2 or 1mm? The deep in the middle is 2 or 3mm? My Regards.
@advankuijk
@advankuijk Жыл бұрын
Hi Darin, the neck is lowered 2 mm and the deep in the middle the same. That is your starting point. Make a guitar and see if it works all right. It may take several guitars before you're satisfied with the adjustments you made in between. Hope this helps you!

If adding shellac to the braces is merely cosmetic, why not add it to the back as well?
