I have 2 different Republic Of Gamers laptops. Abut 3 and 2.5 years old but still work horses (after replacing HDs. The originals were junk)

I guess you must be a member to take advantage of the mapping VDJ has done

Sjouke de Vries This is for the 1.06 update via Google., but should be the same for 1.07. I will confirm ASAP: To install the new update, download the Pioneer DDJ-SR DJ controller firmware 1.06 and extract the archive to an accessible location. Make sure you have the latest Java Runtime Environment and ASIO driver installed on your PC. Turn off the DDJ-SR and disconnect all cables from the unit. Close all applications on your computer before running the update procedure. Connect the PC and DJ controller via USB cable and turn the mixer on while pressing “Shift” and “Sync” buttons. The LEDs from the level meter should start flashing in a short while. When that happens, you can release the keys. Run the “jar” file you've recently extracted and follow the on-screen steps. Do no interrupt the installation by pressing any keys on the device or by removing the cable

Hopefully you got the DDJ-SR " stay away from the DDJ-SR2 it has firmware problems & there plagued with bugs .#🎧💻

Why?

Here is why I use VDJ. 1) They support this industry at trade shows unlike most other software companies 2) The people at VDJ are friendly & very helpful, again unlike most others 3) They are non-proprietary 4) VDJ does music & music video without anything else to buy.

I will add that I started out with Serato Scratch Live. Made the nearly $600 investment the proprietary Rane SL-1 box with the promise of lifetime free software updates & nothing more to buy. Then, Serato was unable to support Windows OS updates. So I ether had to invest in a MAC, revert to XP OS or make another $600 investment in a Rane SL 2 box. I will say I did enjoy my time with my SL 1 box & time coded records, but the lack of support and/or sollutions to Windows OS really did rub me wrong. As far as embracing new technology goes, I think I do pretty well in that regard. I am not a purest with any particular technology. Right now, for me & my VJ purposes, VDJ remains the most viable, affordable & SUPPORTED VJ software out there.

Ah, had a look at the Serato DJ website. Still unclear on the cost or what needs to be purchased as a plugin to do video, but noticed SDJ does not support Windows 8 or AMD prosessors. Not that I have an issue with that personally but I'm already seeing red flags on PC / Windows support.

Real DJ's for the most part are not concerned if a software has sync or not, as a matter of fact you can Sync Serato Intro.

If you identify a "real DJ" as someone who can manually use a pitch control, you have very low expectations for what a "real DJ" is. I hope you are using something other than Serato because Scratch Live's days are coming to an end, this controller is for Serato DJ (the future of Serato) & includes a "Sync" button right above the "Cue" button.

pkwiththepros I'll tell you why I use VDJ. It's a non-proprietary software, they actually support the DJ industry by attending trade shows internationally & the people at VDJ are friendly & helpful. Ever met a dude from Serato? Caught up with them at NAMM one year. Unfriendly, unhelpful & arrogant (not to be confused with the good people at Rane. Mike May is a rock star).

1.) i never said intro didnt have the sync button, 2 intro is made for all the DDJ range 3. intro's effects are way better, 4 when did VDJ let you make macros? 5 if the make a program for a controller then why use something what isnt fully comparable for it? 6 whats point in buying a controller if your not going to use most of its features?! ... when i see djs online or offline using VDJ only what comes to mine is "beginner" and brian stop putting words in my mouth when did i say anything about pitch control?? and there is a different using the sync button for scratching and hot cue dropping than using it to mix! the basic of all DJ'in skills, if you cant mix and beat match not using a sync button then yeah your a fake dj and i will stand by that so honestly you wedding Djs who think using the auto sync to mix is fine then your wrong.

***** ***** Nah, you just called it rubbish & that people only use it for auto sync so they can believe they are a real DJ when they are not... and that's very close to a quote from you, just changed it to 3rd person. Why use it for VDJ when it's native for SDJ? Well, there are a lot more VDJ users out there than you may think, and not just wannabe's: Professional DJs. The reason I shot this video was because some are under the impression that DDJ's are Serato proprietary, which isn't true. Just showing VDJ users that this controller will work for them as well & yeah that's how I'll be using it. The more people know this, the better it is for Pioneer & VDJ users because it really is a nice controller series.
