Making 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' in Blender

Жыл бұрынThis is a time-lapse at 1500% speed of me recreating one of my favorite shots from Joel Coen's 'The Tragedy of Macbeth', depicting the three witches played by Kathryn Hunter. I don't often try to recreate shots with people in them because they're hard to recreate in CG without spending tons of time, but this shot felt possible because of the statuesque nature of the poses. Using a weird system of draping layers of cloth over the bodies with cloth simulations, and then adding some imperfections to the models with sculpting brushes, I think I managed to capture some of the spirit of the original shot.

do you use a laptop when making projects in blender?

I did for all of the projects on my KZfaq channel. Only upgraded to a desktop since the last video.

No better place to start than the donut tutorial, honestly. Then move onto Ian Hubert to see just how much you can do with only a little effort.

@@bbrother92 To be honest, I know absolutely nothing about UE5, but I think you would still need Blender (or an equivalent software) to have a complete workflow there.

Just looking at the video, I started working on it at around 10AM and finished at 3.30PM. I did have lunch in there at some point, so I'd say about 4 hours total, not including render times.

@@Guluvu No not at all. I'm pretty small-time. I'm a director too, and I'm currently editing a film I directed last month, so that's taking up most of my time these days!
