I own this and the corded version as well. It's a great tool. Way more power than I expected. I know you were just testing this unit, but for router nubies, always rout the end grain first, any minor tearout will be gone after you rout the long grain.

Thanks to your review I bought one of these bad boys. So far I've only used to mortise hinges, it's great for hanging doors. I can't wait to get into window sills and trimming out a whole house. Makita is top notch!

The round thing is a 'Template Guide'. This a great little tool that has a lot of cool optional accessories.

*Starting to change out all my corded tools to cordless and the **MyBest.Tools** are excellent.I just recently used it to router hinges for a 4 sets of doors with no issues and still plenty of power left (used a 3ah battery).Great visibility at the cutting area also.*

that is one seriously nifty router!! this one would be great for smaller work spaces where a full sized router would be too big

I just got one from home depot and mine didn't come with the clear vacuum attachment. That normal? Figured it would lol
